Hackenberg is the only rookie qb drafted who hasn't played a snap yet in preseason.

Look I get he's being redshirted and all that but why the 2nd round? :dwillhuh:

We could have drafted a day 1 player at that spot.

Hack probably would still be there in the later rounds.

Such a reach.

When's the last time the Jets drafted somebody in the 2nd round that's panned out?:dwillhuh: I still have hope for Amaro and devin smith but it's insane that through several different regimes we keep missing.

David Harris is really the only guy of note. Watch for Tyler Boyd to put up 2 TD's week 1 too.

The Hackenberg pick was beyond ridiculous.

Look at these second rounders NFL Draft Tracker New York Jets, 1995 to 2016 - FF Today :scust:

I'm not one for second guessing, but look at Prescott for the Cowboys, he was drafted 145th and would probably be the best QB on the Jet roster right now! Hack was drafted 51th and is nowhere near being a professional QB.

You use late round picks on developmental QBs, not 2nd rounders :francis:

People need to calm down with Dak. The defenses in the preseason are so vanilla that you can't make any judgements yet

Would I rather him then Hack right now? Sure as hell looks like it but let's not go crazy with him yet

Not a single player left from that 2012 draft already.

We're not gonna be bad enough to get Watson or Kaaya, but if we are I'll be pounding the table for either.

Only to watch us pass on him to see what we have with Hackenberg :beli:
Thing is their may be a good chance both geno and Fitz are gone by next season.

Hackenberg can't even complete passes against air.

I don't mind the jets taking their shots on QB's(even though I really did dislike the Hack pick). The worst case scenario would be they pass over a guy next year because theyre committed to "developing" Hackenberg.

The good news is weve taken a QB both drafts so they're willing to move in fairly quickly.

The problem is they're gonna keep kicking the can down the road and keep drafting a QB who they think is 'the guy', all the while starting Fitzpatrick in the interim. If Fitz is starting for the Jets Week 1 2017 something has gone horribly wrong.

Drafting QB's isn't kicking the can down the road though. If Fitz is the starter again it means they haven't found anyone better.

Since Petty showed some signs of life this preseason I think it definitely takes importance over getting Hackenberg more reps. If Petty beats out Geno it opens up a spot and could open up him being the next starter for the team.

The good thing seems to be Mac and Bowles have taken a hard line stance to this. They know they need to find a QB.

Yeah I don't mind drafting a qb till you find one either since it's the most important position in sports

Unfortunately next years qb class at the top is even worse then this past year

Rosen is the next great qb but that's not till 2018
