Ali and Roy are the DEFINITION of skilled boxers...at their height? They did things in the ring no one else can do. Roy can't be faulted for being more talented than anyone in history. That's a ridiculous line of thought. That Mayweather would of been higher and Sugar Ray Robinsion at #3 behind Roy and Ali. Naseem? Top 10 ever? OK. lol.

Roy is hard to rank on pure skill, so I wouldn't fault any ranking somebody gave him. But Roy did alot of shyt wrong in the ring, especially defensively, that he could get away with based on his ridiculous talent and athleticism. But maybe he knew the right thing to do, but didn't have to do it because he was just that good. But once he lost some of his physical gifts, he didn't have that pure skill to rely on.

I believe this list is compiled of fighters who most used natural instinct and physical athletic abilities moreso than technical ability

.......but that still doesn't excuse no Sweet Pea

:what: You don't think reflexes and timing are a skill?

Timing certainly. Reflexes maybe, depending on how you're defining skill. When people talk about skill I usually assume they mean the more technical things like footwork, punching mechanics, punch variation, timing, ring iq etc. Basically the stuff that's less dependent on physical abilities/gifts. Physical abilities are of course a kind of skill too, just a different kind, so it depends on what the person means. If you include physical abilities the list makes much more sense, but I would call it the "10 most talented boxers of all time" for clarity.

Some very strange choices there. Prince and Roy were great (Roy in particular) but they were too reliant on their reflexes and athleticism to be on this list. Mike Tyson is more skillful than given credit for, but top 10 of all time? Nah. Also, Bernard Hopkins surely has to be on that list. No one lasts as long as he did without extraordinary technical skill. I think at least one of Wilfred Benitez, Pernell Whitaker, Hearns, Locche deserves a shout too.

Prince definitely stood out to me as weird.

Like....I'm a fan, but honestly...his only loss came when he went up against someone who fought smarter and more technical than him. If he's on the list, fukk it, put MAB on there....:lolbron:

Prince Nas shouldn't even be mentioned with these fighters. Take him out & put Sweet Pea, Hagler, or Toney there. Even Rigo on that list is a bit of a stretch. He has skills & beat Nonito but can he beat more than one great fighter with those skills is the question.
