yet today is suppose to be the end of times :mjlol:
The end times happens every few centuries. People in the dust bowl or the mini ice age from just a few hundred years ago probably freaked out less than some of the people do today after a snow storm...Not many people are taught how to survive at all these days.

3 Carpophorus’s Rape Giraffes

Besides the bestiari, arena competitors included better-trained, voluntary fighters called “venatores.” Carpophorus is likely the most famous of them all. He once killed 20 wild beasts in a single day, straight-up strangling some of them to death.

However, Carpophorus had another talent that we want to discuss today. Along with being an expert killer of animals, he was also a rather skilled trainer of them. Carpophorus trained multiple animals, including giraffes, to rape women. To accomplish this, Carpophorus would wait for female animals to be in heat so he could collect samples from them to arouse the male of the species. Carpophorus would then rub these samples against slaves or homeless women he’d tempted to the arena. According to one account, “Carpophorus used up several women before he got the animals properly trained.”

The reasoning behind such madness was, like with the sad case of prisoners forced to dress as Orpheus, to reenact Greek or Roman myths. In particular, these involved Zeus, who liked to take the form of various animals before having his way with women.

One story involves a woman accused of poisoning five being raped by a jackass, before Carpophorus ended the ordeal by releasing wild animals into the arena to ease her suffering.

:what: :wtf:

Beasts were specially trained to copulate with women: if the girls or women were unwilling then the animal would attempt rape. A surprising range of creatures was used for such purposes - bulls, giraffes, leopards, cheetahs, wild boar, zebras, stallions, jackasses, huge dogs, apes, etc. The beasts were taught how to copulate with a human being [whether male or female] either via the vagina or via the anus." Representations of scenes from the sexual lives of the gods, such as Pasipha and the Bull, were highly popular, often causing extreme suffering, injury or death. On occasion, the more ferocious beasts were permitted to kill and (if desired) devour their victims afterwards.[8] Chimpanzees and mandrills, both in fact ferocious and very powerful species of primate: "made drunk by wine and inflamed by the odor of females of their kind, were loosed upon girls whose genitals had been drenched with the urine of female chimps and mandrills." The victims were often virgins and not infrequently young children. One spectacle is said to have included "a hundred tiny blonde girls being raped simultaneously by a horde of baboons."

We take our beliefs in human rights for granted and we assume that all people are good because just because they are born. Was it Carl Rogers who said that "all people are basically good?" We are naively good only because we taught ourselves to be so. Our culture teaches it. But it's only a culture and over thousands of years cultures change

We forget that the Roman Empire lasted for a very long time and the zeitgeist of their era didn't teach that anyone really mattered, that humans were worthy of life or that other people were even people. This was "common knowledge" among them. Amazing to think about.

Rome was a phucked up culture, lied and schemed to expand their sick empire. Babylonians and Persians were just as bad. Sick disgusting people.
Might have to do with those disgusting pagan religions where they basically worshiped evil spirits.

please don't get the Persians confused with the Arabs. both hate each other for a reason
