can someone explain to me exactly why the crowd is booing Cody? I’ve also see. Some posts on here talking negatively about him. What did he do to deserve boos?
He hasn't really done anything other than try to present his idea of what a top face character is. Fans just aren't buying into it.
I think a lot of it boils down to Cody miscalculating with his overdone entrances and overthinking his part of angles that he thinks will get positive face reactions but are just turning people off.

I don't know the backstory for everyone else, but his mannerisms and wrestling style is very egoistical heelish.

It started with his Homelander cosplay, then that meandering promo, which he mentioned how his mixed daughter is a sign of better race relations :russ:
I mean that promo completely missed the mark. I agree, it I feel like people are booing him like 2005 Cena or 2014 Roman and it’s not necessary. He ain’t that bad, but whatever

Cody is going to be about to win the match when Tony Nese will run in and help Malakai Black win. Then it will be revealed that Nese is the first acolyte of The House of Black.
I would like this. Cody ruined an otherwise interesting match.

Also, I never thought I'd like Jungle Boy, but I do.

Black's character is just too damn cool right now. He'd probably get cheered against Andrade.

Because Black came over and was hot as hell
No one wants Cody to win
Cody is becoming Triple H without the title runs :francis:
To bounce off this and @Rayzah’s question, The Cody feud formula feels old, he feels disconnected from mostly everybody else on the roster (especially the Elite), he and Brandi come across as completely tone deaf and out of touch, and his character hasn’t evolved or changed much in the last few years.
I like Cody as a performer and there was a time in the beginning of AEW where I thought he was putting out the best work of anybody in the company, but it’s time for him to do something different. Ultimately it’s time for him to go heel, the people aren’t cheering him like that anymore.

I thought it would’ve been a great chance for Cody to finally lose a feud, and then join black as a disciple of sorts. Boosting Black up even more.

But lolz Cody wins!

You think Britt's more over than Adam Cole? You hear the pop he gets whenever his music hits? I think Britt and Cole are about even on over-ness

I actually think they're closer to even as well.

The edge I give to Britt is that she's had a legendary arc in the company they're in currently in, so she feels home-grown to AEW (first signee, the bloody Britt shirt, the Brittsburgh episode, her Texas promo, critically-acclaimed stip match...)

Cole gets her anywhere else, but she's made AEW her own.
