You counting the AWA Championship?
But wouldn't world title history make more sense if guys like Swagger, Chavo, Arquette, Russo, McMahon, Khali, Mahal etc? People always point to reigns like those when these arguments of who got slighted for belts are brought up.
I get that Dustin has been going since the 80's but think about how many of those years were sex fiend Goldust, bizarre Goldust, on drugs, Seven, or a pure comedy character, etc...he's not the guy to die on the hill for.
Yea, at one point the AWA World Title was on the same level as the WWF world title, maybe even above it. WWF/E didn’t really become this huge company until the late, maybe mid 80s.
Owen and Scott Hall were USWA Unified World Heavyweight champs. In the 90s it wasn’t on the level of WWF or WCW but it still was a respectable world title.
Still wish all 3 woulda gotten to be WWF, WCW or NWA world champ at some point tho.
There was definitely a window where Mr Perfect woulda made a dope WWF world champ. I personally think it woulda been better for him to be the one to beat Warrior at RR 91 then drop it to Hoegan at WM7 than that wack ass Sgt Slaughter feud where u got 2 Americans beefing on some Gulf War feud
Also WM9 shoulda been babyface Bret dropping the title to babyface Perfect. Imo that woulda still till this day been the GOAT WM main event. Rather than that nonsense that had Yoko get a 1 min reign then a transitional Hoegan reign just to drop it back to Yoko. Then the nonsense of Luger being wild excited he beat the world champ Yoko by countout at SummerSlam when he shoulda left with the title
Razor Ramon woulda been a dope WWF world champ but even if he didn’t get it, he def shoulda had one of those Kevin Nash WCW world title reigns.
Owen actually did win the WWF world title then the ref reversed the decision because of outside interference in a lumberjack match, yea u read that right
That shoulda been an official title change even if just transitional then he drop it back to Bret later on.
Far as Dustin, I don’t know if any time in the 90s it woulda made sense to put the world title on him and I didn’t watch like that in the 2000s. But the 2000s did have a lot of pointless ass reigns and WWE had 3 world titles at one point. He def coulda at least been ECW World Champ. Edge cool and all but ain’t no way in hell he can get 11 world title reigns and Dustin couldn’t get at least one transitional one.
I do agree not everyone, or even half, not even a quarter of the roster should be world champ but I don’t think that applies to Dustin.
