Hit me up once you get the date locked in so I can have somebody go to the show to do coverage for The Coli.

The alumni : special Ed, Kwame, Chubb rock, Dana Dane, n monie love

That's their asking price- would sell out w an older, less troublesome demographic (30 plus) and would draw a big crowd , think outside the new school box

I got 10k to do a hip hop show in NYC...I know this isn't much but ima still reach out to a few people.

If you had this budget who would you book or what approach would you take to make a profit.

By the way this will be my first show I'm putting together

:manny:

make sure you promote at the local colleges breh. state universities, community colleges, private schools (like columbia)

one thing I learned from going to a small, majority white public university is that there are damn near hip hop heads everywhere you go. they just not always in plain sight :obama:

and obviously i'm sure you'll hit the city and internet hard :steviej:

get that money breh

yeah lots of people want/appreciate this, we had a tanya morgan show at our school. they set up merch in the back and sold a lot of CDs and shirts to people who don't even fukk with hip hop like that.

1. You never pay for the venue, you work out bar percentages and door fees with the club

2. Each artist price varies depending on market, venue size, price of admission etc.

3. You never pay for security, drinks, etc, venue has that already.

4. You will unlikely get any known artist for that, mainly because it's too low, and alot of the artists have 360 deals where they let companies like AEG, and Live Nation control and book their shows.

5. Dealing with rappers and there "managers" which are really just some random ads nikka in their click is a headache, and are very unprofessional.

6. If you have 0 experience, the venue is unlikely to give u the spot, or will force you to work with an in-house promotion team, which will take a % from the potential profits

7. With an artist that performs for 10k, you're probably looking at a rapper that wont bring more than 700-800 people, and that's best case scenario... And the audience wont pay more than $20 for an artist of that caliber.

8. 10k for rapper, plus 1,500-2k for promo, and additional unexpected costs of say 500.... That's a 13k budget, and best case 15k in revenue.

Minus the budget and % split with promoters and venue, you looking at 400-500 profit.. And that's best case scenario
