I don't see what HBO has to do with shytty movies.

I personally wasn't dissapointed at all. Even the movies that I didn't love were ones I didn't have to go risk my health to watch. I wish they re-up'd and had another years worth of new movies to peep as it could easily be a much better slate than this year. How quality they are is on hollywood, not the service or even the concept of same day release.

I'm a be honest we're almost what... like a 1yr into same day releases on HBO Max. Imo, the concept is dope being that we're still in a pandemic. The problem with it is that most of the movies released by WB has been subpar to trash.

WW84 - Trash
Matrix 4 - Trash (Could only sit through 50 mins of 2 1/2 hrs)
Mortal Kombat - Good
The Little Things - Decent but slow ass drama
Those That Wish Me Dead - Good
Malignant - Decent for a horror flick
Suicide Squad 2 - Cool
Dune - Pointless

The rest of those movies like Space Jam 2, Tom & Jerry, In The Heights, etc., I had no interest in checking for. Either WB needs to start dropping better movies or HBO needs to drop the concept. I cancelled my subscription last yr behind WW84.

Point of the movie slate going to straight to streaming was to a) break Roku and win that negotiation and b) serve as a bridge to 2022 when all the TV shows that would’ve been out in 2021 but were pandemic delayed finally arrive.

Served it’s purpose on both fronts. Money was lost but they knew that going in.
