crazy unrelated thing i was seeing and telling my boy. he was talking not long ago about taking a trip with his family to japan. first end of year but then next spring. I travel with them, usually to orlando for the theme parks, or to wrestling events. So I would definitely consider sliding especially since Tokyo high on my bucket list. So I was telling him that the japanese yen hasn't been this low since September 1998. I looked it up and for florida residents, we get tickets to disney and universal at like $104 or so. I think disneyland is same price. Maybe there is no discount for the one day ticket for state residents. Actually looks the same for florida and everyone else. I looked up disneyland tokyo and universal japan and it's 8400 yen, or like $61. Way cheaper than the parks out here. And who knows what else out there can be purchased for way cheaper than here cuz of how high in value the USD is. I told him we'd be vacationing like royalty if we go out there with USD. Even disney in paris is 67 for 1 day. 3 days and 2 parks is 80 bucks. Can't imagine any other destinations or activities thru out japan, europe, or rest of the world. definitely getting more bang for your buck in other countries if your money right.
Yeah I will have to look at traveling overseas since the US dollar is so strong now. Probably can go to a strip club in Tijuana and floss like a rapper... .
Anyway I series bonds are loans you make to the government. Right now they paying 9% interest on up to 10K you loan to the government (max 10K a year you can put in per person in your home). The principle is guaranteed....its something the well to do use to leverage their money during inflation. Just a nice place to park your money. Got 10K in my name and my wives name.
Individual - Series I Savings Bonds
back under 20k, might be a while under it.
damn, i wonder if i actually need 10k to do that. be like yeah just put the money in for me and then just pay me back when its due lol
You can put in as little as you want. Just up too 10K. I believe you can do up to 15K if you use your income tax refund and direct it to be placed into the I series account.
Can you do the bonds through your bank???
Yep that is how you do it. Unless you asking for your refund check to be sent for a I series bond.
Just make sure if you set up the account the address you use must match what is on your drivers license or else you account can't be set up.
I'm looking online but it doesnt say how to set it up at chase i might have to go in person...
