As far as Chris Paul goes...

I'm totally against the deal but if we were to do it, how many years are left on that albatross contract of his? If it's 2 years and they are willing to take Waiters, James Johnson, Dragiç AND perhaps send us a 1st round draft pick or two to sweeten the deal... I'd consider it.
Because this deal doesnt help us so they better give us something to entice us to take that contract. Who knows, perhaps CP3 has a decent season with moderate minutes. Heck is they give us 2 picks to take his contract and take Goran and JJ and Dion perhaps we can use those 2 picks and get Washington to give us Beal for them.
I know im rambling but just trying to see what Riley would see in CP3 because CP3 is surely NOT the Riley-type guard.:jbhmm: Especially not at the tail end of his career with that contract.

But JJ and Goran are not that bad. CP3 got 3 years left as opposed to westbrook and would be a better fit with butler than him but we would be overpaying for a name. They would have to send 2 picks to sweeten that deal but why would they??

They are cheap and probably just used us to get picks from houston. Give winslow the start and if it aint working plug drag back in with butler and wait to hear some disgruntled star whining by the deadline.

Riley need to give the youngins his confidence and approval to get the most out of em

The best shooter on a team that has bad shooting average is not a good shooter

You nikkas are stupid as fukk
At no point did I mention his shooting compared to his team. I was comparing him to the rest of the league. 38% from 3 is above average for the league

Flopping aside i’m a much bigger fan of Paul’s game than I am Russ. He also doesnt really take away from what any of the younger guys can do. The contract is another story
CP3 is definitely a better fit with the team. He’s a much better shooter than Russ but he’s older and declining. Even with that though he would still be a threat to knock down open 3s if he’s off the ball with Winslow and Butler handling it and he did still avg 16 and 8 last season despite Harden having the ball as much as he does.

We wouldn’t be giving up any part of the young core to get him but the team would basically be set for the next 3 years because the contract wouldn’t allow room to sign anyone else. We would be giving up depth though. Giving up 3 of Goran, JJ, Olynyk and Dion would free up room for the younger guys roles to expand and none of those guys they’d be giving up are in the plans to be back with the team after their contracts are up.

Again, I do not really want Chris Paul. However I'm willing to take on his contract if Oklahoma City is willing to give picks with him to get rid of his contract.
My only purpose for those pics would be to get Beal.

Wash aint looking to trade beal and what we send out to get paul would’ve been used to get him anyway.

We need this Beal deal to happen. :sadcam:
fukk the youngins! Let them have both Bam and Winslow if that's what it takes. I'm sure we can get decent minutes from JJ and Dion in a backup role for the next 2 years. As long as we dont have to give up picks i'm good with it
