I thought Okada/Marafuji was a classic match and I didn't think it would be topped at WK11 despite the card looking like :wow: on paper but the show was incredible and capped by most certainly one of the best big main event matches I've ever seen.

People so badly want to say it's overrated or take the position that it was just "spots" but that couldn't be further from the truth. The big spots were all a part of the larger story and there was more selling and harder hitting in this contest than probably the entire PWG BOLA from this past year (which I did like to an extent).

You say that and it reads as if you think a spotfest is inherently bad (not saying you do, but it sounds that way), when that couldn't be further from the truth. What made PWG fun as fukk to watch was the fact that the matches were mainly mindless spotfest in front of a red hot crowd.

And I have no clue what BOLA has to do with Omega/Okada being praised as one of the GOAT matches. It's pretty easy to find something overrated when "greatest ever" is the measuring stick. Even finding it "great" would mean the match is overrated :heh:

I honestly don't see the huge deal in the dissenting opinions on Omega/Okada. Pretty much every one is in agreement that at the very least it was a really fun match, that's HUGE consensus in this day and age.

Not everyone. I've seen some over analytical types giving it 3 stars while those same people give random television matches on Main Event and Superstars the same ratings. It's laughable and not really worth discussing. There is a such thing as an opinion and then there is downright hating because a person is not invested in a certain promotion and what have you. Or simply because they hate Dave Meltzer and his stans :mjlol:

Regardless, if someone tells me a 10-minute match between two midcarders on WWE programming is superior, I cannot take them seriously. Not to say a 10-minute match cannot be compelling or tell a story but often times these praised contests are nothing more than a very, often extremely basic layout that happened to have a couple good looking strikes.

Well, if someone wants hurtful or impactful looking strikes Omega and Okada certainly provided that too.

Man, I knew Omega was a worker but damn... Don't think i've ever seen someone have that much stamina in a match ever.

:damn: main event lived up to the hype it's been getting. Wow I was on the edge of my seat even though I knew the outcome of the match. I was actually smiling and :gladbron: something I rarely do nowadays watching a wrestling match. Omega is insane, he deserves a break after all the shyt he did :whew:
