Go watch Bryan's matches from Smackdown this year. You'll see him working the style he worked tonight.
I know you hate the WWE, but thousands of wrestlers have learned that style (and still used it after leaving the company). The only real major star who wasn't able recently to learn the WWE style was Mistico. Pretty much everybody else learns it just fine.

Also for the record, the WWE didnt create the slow down style shyt. A lot of matches in NJPW are slow down too... not everything is fast flippy lucha libre esque (which I know you know and not accusing you or not knowing)

This company is a Mark’s wet dream so everything is given more credit than it deserves until proven otherwise. I enjoy both products. But there’s anti-WWE stigma when most of the dam company were made men or women before they went to the E and came there.

Damn they really do respect championship matches

It was perfect card placement.

AEW has had problems with stuff running too long and having to crunch stuff. The Suzuki/Mox match was the perfect example. They couldn't run that risk with Omega/Danielson, specially not tonight.

So you put them first because and make sure they go as long as they need to. Considering the decision was to do a draw, it was even more important to open with that as you don't end the show with a "lackluster" ending.

AND they get to do a title match as the main event and give Baker the spotlight she deserves.
