the OSW Review guys on all of their reviews like to point out that the middle rope is "Bret's Rope" because of that fact. It got to the point that announcers like Chris Charlatan from New Japan and guys from the indys refer the middle rope on commentary as Bret's Rope anytime someone jumps off from it
