I think there's a decent chance Cena beats Roman. CM Punk is going to have all of the buzz Summerslam weekend and WWE even acknowledged it (replaying Cena's Punk reference on Smackdown).

Cena beating Roman and breaking Flair's record will get way more buzz than Roman just winning. Cena leaving with the title (like he referenced on Smackdown) will bring some of that Punk attention back to WWE.

Roman can get his win back at the MSG show in September that Cena agreed to be on.

I think most of us knows that if Cena ever wins 17, it will be with buildup, video packages, retirement teasing and so on

Just saw the promo. It was OK but it seems like they don't know whether they want to make it a fake shoot or what. Rock vs Cena actually worked in getting people to believe that there was shoot heat between them, but this hasn't done that imo. They could've just built this up as the posterboy of 05-14 vs the posterboy of 14-present and that'd be big enough, because this shoot stuff hasnt really worked imo.

Cena /rock was them havin jabs at eachother years prior before the match became reality thats why it felt more like that i think

I find it odd that Reigns put Cena over more in that promo than vice-versa. Cena is pulling the same worked shoot shtick he pulled with Rocky and I think it's kind of corny.

I guess it's all a matter of taste. I prefer a classic build not this shoot shyt.

The worst thing about last night was Cena's hypocritical promo, and If Roman really wanted to shoot he could've said that Cena was the ultimate failure. He could've mentioned how Vince never had to give away millions of dollars a week or get celebrities to host RAW when Hogan, Stone Cold, and The Rock were the top guys. You can tell that John was feeling a certain way about all the attention Roman has been getting, because he's resorted to his classic petulant child act. People saying he won the promo are just delusional, because you could tell that he ran out of steam when he kept going back to that 1,2,3 bullshyt.

Look how Drew declared war on the tribal chief here. look at the aura in this promo. How what happened weeks prior extended and blended into this promo. The stuff Drew did on his brand to get the match he wanted to shut Roman down and bring him back to reality.



I don't need this shoot bs, I want an angle that results in a payoff. Atm the payoff I expect out of this Roman story line is for someone to slowly breakdown the Roman dynasty, someone to put fear in Roman, and have him doubt this persona he's gotten, have the Usos lose faith in him and begin to snap out of this mentality Roman has put them in, and then beat Roman for the title causing him to have a mental breakdown that could in due time lead him back to being a face later down the line in some new angle.

If Vince's bright idea was to build this amazing character have John return do a bunch of shoot buzz words on Roman, ignore all that aura, and then pin Roman at summer slam killing the character completely... he can have it.

We complain about worked shoots because most of the time it's lazy. You completely overlooked the part where we said Cena's promo didn't make any sense, because he was essentially talking about himself.
