lol at 'El Chapo' as a Gucci Mane song title. He is going to be like the Escobar of this generation when it's all over.

Its funny that people say he isnt buzzing when Gucci Mane is one of the hipsters favorite and a ton of DJs all over the world love his music / use his music in mixes. Sure he doesn't have the massive dominating buzz he did a few years back but hes still well known and people like his music.

Trap Back is a great mixtape, seriously.

From El Paso? Juarez, yeah, Chapo/CDS/GN is mostly to blame for that nightmare.

Yea homie. There aint a day where someone aint dead. Its sad man, the city was full of fine dimes and clubs banged over there like no other. Now days all you see is waiters sweepin the floor at 10 pm. The criime there is really unbelievable

I'm from San Diego, the same thing happened in Tijuana, on a much smaller scale, but the affect is similar. I grew up going to TJ all the time, I was 10 11 years old wandering by myself. I would party down there when I was 18-19, party buses from SDSU would come down, then after the war in 2008-2009, all that stopped. I still go down for lunch, but rarely go down there to go to a club.

haha same, i think all of us who lived in Southern California would run down there when we first turned 18 to drink/party. By the time you are old enough to drink at a place its like 'the fukk am i driving there for' That plus all the violence recently.

I was in LA on Fairfax Ave and they had records out at Turntable lab for a kind of music called 'trap bass' im like wtf is this? And they looked at me like I was a weirdo because they put gucci and other trap rappers over EDM beats and its like the hottest shyt. I have 'Free Gucci 2' from Mad Decent and its a ton of british DJs putting Gucci over grime and all that but I didn't realize it was a whole sub genre until this weekend.

I listen to corridos, LOL, it's really similar to most genres of rap, really. The history and culture behind everything is beyond fascinating.

and to OIC, yeah, it was normal down here, the club district was packed with people, and everyone wandering around in the street, just like downtown SD or the club areas in LA. Now, it's just a small local crowd mostly. There are other areas, and things in TJ are coming back, but I don't think it will be the same again. Too many people are afraid of the violence, mostly, as far as Tijuana the fears are unfounded, but perception can be everything.
