Nah he wasn't NXT champ. He lost the title in June of 2012 and debuted on Raw in Dec of 2012

They got those two competing in tag teams just to bide time. Either they ready or aren’t because if you’re in the company the goal is to get on the main roster and make it anyway you can.

Only reason I bring those two up is because they’re top tier already and can instantly come in and main event.
