First year in a while i’ve been unsure or even having a good guess who takes it.

If I had to pick I would say Ospreay but im not sure if they would want to build WK around two Gaijin so I think either Ospreay or Tana takes it but somehow the other will main event a night if it’s still two days.

If not then I got Tana taking it.

I dunno - I think Ospreay has a shot at winning it all, with all the shyt-talking him and Kenny are doing online :ehh:

Heard last night's card was mid.

Sidenote: Zack Saber Jr. repeatedly screaming "Oi - I'm senpai, dikkhead! :damn:  :pacspit:" at KENTA was one of my favourite moments in this year's tournament so far.

Damn, this shyt used to do numbers. NJPW going out sad :francis:

Yeah, they picked a really bad time to balloon the field. Half the field is people you know aren't winning this shyt, and you're still not getting a ton of new and intriguing matchups. At this point, they need to take a L, and schedule at least half of next year's G1 to happen stateside so they can work in as much external talent as possible. I mean, shyt's so bad this year, we didn't have the question of "Are they wasting a spot with Chase Owens, Yoshi-Hashi, or Yujiro Takahashi," because they put all three of them in. And two of them are in the same fukking block. :dead:

Haven't watched NJPW in a minute but caught some of the 1st night. Skipped the tag matches and went right to the tourney matches. Okada/Cobb, White-O/SANADA, Ospreay/ELP are worth a watch. Tana/Henare was ehh to me. The crowd not being able to do anything other than clap really hurts the presentation. Last I read was that vocal crowd noise will be allowed at the Sept 5/6 Korakuen Hall shows but part the appeal of the G1 was how passionate the fans would get, especially towards the end of the tourney.

Third year into this, and they're just NOW considering virtual crowd noise. :dead:

Gotta feel like White-O vs Ospreay has got to be the finals, but I haven't looked at the brackets to see if that's even possible.
