They really dropped the ball with Archer

The Archer problem came with them making his intro feud with Cody end up being based around the TNT title.

Once Cody beat Archer and became champ Cody moved on to this "fighting champion" angle and Archer got lost in the shuffle.

The Archer/Cody feud should've gotten nowhere near the TNT title and it should be going on to this day.
