using an 80s aesthetic for a show that debuted in 1999 was stupid as fukk... at some point they gotta realize that there is a lot more money in milking late 90s and early 2000s nostalgia at this point.. but good show nonetheless

smackdown has consistently been the best wrestling show on cable since the draft
They know it judging by how they’ve milked the Attitude Era to death and they just started doing it with the Ruthless Aggression era too but yeah, that’s really weird they went with an 80’s aesthetic. Makes zero sense to the brand

I was about to ask the same thing. Why were they using pre-1997 logos for “old school” Smackdown? Do they just think their target audience doesn’t pay attention?

yea it should have just been the early smack down theme. I think to Vince throwback means when he was young and not specifically speaking to smack down being young. Which was stupid. But the show was atleast consistent with the 80’s theme.

Someone brought up a good point.... can we go back to the "wildcard" style of Survivor Series matches again with faces, heels and rivals on the same team struggling to get along instead of the "Raw vs SmackDown" format they been lazily booking for the past couple of years?

They only did a wildcard match once, the '95 show... I don't remember another time they did this.
