[WWE Hall of Fame spoilers] The Undertaker, inducted by Vince McMahon
**Vince McMahon induction**
Vince did his strut and came out to No Chance In Hell. He said "no one is more deserving" of being in WWE Hall of Fame than The Undertaker. Then Vince told the crowd he would read a list of Taker's opponents quickly so they didn't interrupt. The fans started doing "What?!" chants, and Vince (hysterically, IMO) played along.
Vince recalled a Shotgun Saturday Night match between Taker and Triple H at Penn Station, a promo Taker cut in a cemetery for five hours during "flesh-freezing rain", Taker being willing to stand on a WWE float for hours and even climb out of a sewer in NYC.
Vince put over Taker's integrity, loyalty ("WCW never bothered to call The Undertaker because they knew he'd never answer"), ability to command (not demand) respect, leadership by example, toughness, athleticism, perseverance, discipline and love. The few sparse people did "What?!" chants during the list. You could tell Vince thought it was rude (it was), but then he went Mr. McMahon and said Taker would come kick their ass.
"You cannot accomplish what he has over 30 years for any other reason than *love* for this business."
McMahon inducted him as "Mark Calaway, The Undertaker."

**The Undertaker speech**
Taker's mic was hot. He said "[I love you]()" to Vince right away. He wore a Brock Lesnar-style ponytail, got loud "Un-der-Ta-ker", "You Deserve It", "Ta-ker", "Thank You Ta-ker" and "Rest In Peace" chants plus an extended standing ovation. (Longest I can remember in HOF history.) Every time he prepared to speak, they kept going.
[Standing ovation]()
- Calaway gave his speech with a headset so he could walk around. He said he's kept himself hidden for 30 years behind all of the various Taker gimmicks.
- He first thanked the WWE Universe. "You are loyal. You are passionate. And you guys were the motivation that I needed on many nights to get off of the training room table, work my way to the ring, push through the pain and perform." He said tonight isn't just about him but the fans.
- Calaway talked about following his dreams and not those of his parents or anyone else.
- Taker referred to a squash match in Rochester. "Excuse me, an *enhancement* match." He said he roughed a kid up who was trying his best but failing. Vince taught him a lesson he used the rest of his career that his actions matter. Vince: "Perception is reality, and the reality is that everybody out there in the arena and everybody backstage thinks you're an a$$hole."
- Calaway joked that Stephanie is a bigger brat than she appeared to be on TV. "She's the little sister I never wanted, but I guess I'm stuck with you." He said Shane wore him out and used to drive him and The Godfather around while being forced to wear sunglasses. (Shane was not shown on TV.)
- He said Vince and Godfather are the two male influences in his life besides his dad, joking that Godfather wasn't necessarily a positive influence. "We drank gallons of Jack Daniels, and we have fought each other over hats, watches." Godfather always had his back.
- Taker also shouted out BSK and co-founder Yokozuna. "Boys, you know I'm going to take the stories to the grave with me." He also shouted out Crush and said he always ribbed him. The last time they saw each other, they were trying to break cinderblocks with their hands. His passing crushed him.
- Paul Bearer: "Legit licensed mortician" and vital to the Taker character. Tremendous guy and joker. If he left a drink unattended, PB would put cucumbers in it. "An evil man." (Joking)
- Kane: "Brothers of Destruction ... the greatest wrestling story ever told." Most genuine person Taker knows, even though he stole all his moves. "Although you did do them better than me."
- Dad taught him that the same people you treat like shyt on the way up are those whose asses you probably will have to kiss on the way down. "You never know how one hello, smile or handshake will effect someone." Respect and loyalty go a long way.
- Shout outs for Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race, Ricky Steamboat, Andre the Giant, Bruno Sammartino, Bret Hart and Ric Flair for paving the way. Bruce Pritchard was a huge Taker advocate who got him in front of Vince. Shout outs for numerous behind-the-scenes people, including Terry Anderson for being responsible for all of his iconic looks.
- WrestleMania 25 and Shawn Michaels: Their match was first scheduled for third on the card with 15 minutes. (!!!) "An insult this bad made us [go out and prove their ability]." Taker said he and Shawn raised hell, got put on later, got some more time and made it so everyone knew they should have been the main event. "One of the very best matches of my career."
- Triple H and WrestleMania 27-28: Triple H reminded him who he really was when Taker's confidence was at its lowest. HHH got him through those matches and the rest of his career. The moment they shared with Shawn at 28 is "one of the most proud moments of my career".
- Story about wrestling Sid in Houston with his family in the crowd. Sid put him in a chin lock and shyt-talked his mom, who tried so hard to hop the barricade that her arms were bruised by people holding her back. "That's how mom got banned from wrestling."
- Michelle McCool didn't want to meet Kane or Taker when she got to WWE. Taker jokingly blamed Godfather for his bad reputation. "After a long, exhausting chase ... I finally had to say yes." He said the best thing Michelle did was help him find religion again. He also put her over for still being able to hang in the ring.
- Vince McMahon: Gave Taker a chance to prove WCW wrong. "You changed my entire life." Taught him a ton about the business, been a great friend and father figure. He said Vince gave him a few pats on the back, a bunch of hugs but a ton of kicks in the ass. Taker joked that Vince loved him but put him in tons of insane stipulation matches ... but ... "You never got me to do the Taker-roonie." ... "Thank you for the gift of The Undertaker, but more importantly, thank you for your friendship."
- Closed by thanking WWE fans for their unwavering support and respect. He said, live your life for you and reminded: (1) perception is reality (2) respect and loyalty go a long way and (3) no matter what, never be content, be unapologetically you.
"You can rest assured -- now that The Undertaker has entered the WWE Hall of Fame, I will ... Rest ... In ... Peace."
Taker then put on one of his old trenchcoats and hats and said ... "[NEVER SAY NEVER]()"
