I'm thinking that they're doing a long term character arc with Kingston where he builds his character up into an underdog title winner down the line (supported by this promo battle, in fact), so him coming close and losing due to his own unacknowledged shortcomings makes sense. You never quite know with AEW sometimes, though.

He should win this match, though.

Am I the only person who thinks that Starks being in this match devalues the FTW Title a little bit?

(By the way, he and Jay Lethal should have an actual program of some sort. Really good Rampage match a couple of weeks ag; both guys looked the best they ever have in the promotion and exhibited some excellent chemistry with one another. I'd love to see what they could do after a few months of working one another.)
