It's his own damn fault. Nobody told him to catch feelings over constructive criticism that fans and people in the business alike have been pointing out. :yeshrug:

I don't envy the roster though, because they're being toe tagged by proxy either way and that shyt is completely unfair to them. :francis:
That part.

I'm floored that he hasn't crafted some sort of public apology yet. Could tweet/release something like "In hindsight, I overreacted to Big Swole's comments and I apologize. While not perfect, All Elite Wrestling has tried our best to highlight the diverse talent we have on our roster. As with any young company, there are hiccups along the way, and we will do our best to address some of the concerns she brought up. We appreciate Big Swole's contributions to our company and wish her the best with the next stage of her career."

Though with being the TBS debut of Dynamite tonight, maybe he'll address the TV audience.

It's the silver spoon mentality, that he has to clap back then push out some PR statement. He and the EVPs don't know PR business of wrestling. I hope he does come through with some statement but I'm not betting on it.

Tony briefly addressed increasing diversity in AEW at the 27:15 mark of the video that's the third post in this thread. He alluded to some of the push for diversity is a response to recent events (Swole's statement & the backlash to his tweet).

I'm honestly wondering how this plays out. Either Tony tries to look more open to diversity and gives Jade the belt (which will lead to more of the racism from fans that Jade complained about on Twitter), or Tony will give Ruby the belt (which will continue AEW's anti-Black public image).
Honestly, Tony is in an unenviable position.

Could you fill me in on what's happening?

It's been like 5 days and not only has he been silent and hiding behind the roster, but that tweet is still up. While I don't doubt he'll probably do something in response, I don't think a public apology is happening.
