When they said they were 35 minutes into Ospreay/Okada I was like what the fukk nothing has even happened in this match

at this point I just ffwd Okada matches to the last 10 min stretch

I would say that for every match on the card that went over 15 minutes. NOTHING happened in Hiromu/Phantasmo, NOTHING happened until the last couple of minutes of Okada/Ospreay when Okada entered Nakamura dikk mode, Ibushi/Natio was the most restrained match of theirs I can recall seeing. Didn't feel like any match had a big finishing stretch at all and all of them just had a finish being hit and that's that, 2 in the case of Naito/Ibushi. As I was typing this I forgot Tana/OKahn happened at all.

Okada diving over the top rope to the outside of the ring.
A sick table spot.
A tombstone on the apron.
A great sequence with a dropkick flawlessly countered into a powerbomb.
A top rope spanish fly.
Ospreay hitting a Rainmaker.

That plus a tons of other... you know... wrestling moves.

I don't understand the constant criticism of Okada's matches, a lot of things actually happen in his matches and his finishing sequences are the best in the world. Are we watching the same thing ?

Just finished watching the main event. Good match. Happy for Ibushi. Hopefully he retains.

Was noticing how every match in NJPW is brutal. Everyone seems to be barely able to walk and all iced up at the end. No matter if its a heavyweight championship bout or a young lions match, nobody seems to leave the ring without help. Yet they have guys as old as 50 over there brutalizing their opponents and taking hits as well while holding their own. Meanwhile in another company, they got 50+ year olds that can't go anymore as good as the NJPW veterans, trying to stay relevant and compete.
