Like I said, I respect the AA as a tribe and I'm not trying to say that we are all the same tribe, but our tribes are all part of the same (whatever a group of tribes is called) just like all the euro's are part of the same (whatever) and the asians are part of the same (whatever). I build with my nigerian brothers and my jamaican brothers and my afram brothers. People ain't hiring yall out here. fukk it, you got a great degree. Come to Ethiopia for a couple years, help develop the country, and fall in love with Africa. In my humble opinion, that is our only hope as a (whatever) and some tribes may fare better than others at first but obviously someone has to lead. Garvey was from Jamaica...Kwama Ture is from Trinidad... Selassie from Ethiopia. All were leaders fundamental in the "movement." This, we did it on our own thing seems to me to be a new concept that has started over the last 20-03 years as pan africanism was being destroyed by American national interest who decided it was in America's best interest to have Black America not band together with Black Africa.
This made me wonder what happened to where we don't get along, and letting the world know it. I went to youtube, from the video about americans being lazy, and you see a plethora of AA vs Africans, or AA vs Caribbeans. What happened?
In the late 80's to mid 90's, it was all about being black, loving your roots, and wanting learn about Africa, at least in NYC, so I don't understand how the separation got even stronger with us, and other blacks, when we should be more closer now. Maybe we had good intentions, but the ones who came here had other agendas. Maybe we need to take heed to what they are saying, because I really can't understand how is this shyt still going on, and most of the "immigrants" have been in this country most of their life. This is probably a wake up call for those willing to hear it. I know for me, I'm slowly changing my views on being a community with all blacks. I realize we hate each other too much for that to happen, so it has to be people who understand how this world works, and willing to thrive in this war, that I unite with. All that "let's unite because we are black" is gone with me. I used to think like that, and only got hurt. Never again!
