Really? It's been like 20 - 30 + years since he has been featured in anything a lot of people have given a shyt about.

Still the most influential comic character of all time, and was the most well known for a good 50+ years. Doesn't get much more iconic than that.

Most popular right now? Nah, prolly not. Black Panther prolly more popular than Supes now.

Iconic? :yeshrug:

Disagree, Batman has been more influential and has stayed that way until present times. There are way more heroes in his mold than Superman's.
And yeah, popularity wise now there in no 'prolly', he definitely isn't the most popular.

There were broody millionaires with tragic backstories that got their skills in tibet or whatever before Batman.

Superman is the first alien from another planet but looks human superpowered brick.

And right now there's far more superpowered far beyond human, not set up as a god to be worshipped bricks than there are broody millionaire ninjas.

Isn't Superman a direct bite of Shazam?

If you go by lawsuit claims, sure.

Shazam is a amalgam of Gods To Be Worshipped. The Thors are more of a bite.

Supes showed up and proved you didn't have to be a God that used to be worshipped to have huuuuuge powers.

There's been more not-God bricks ever since.

Do any of y’all actually be around kids? I’m a DC and Superman fan but Ironman and Goku got the juice now with the little ones
I'm saying to, as the years go by Superman will be Shazam status unless he gets some type of pop culture boost in the next decade. All the people that still Revere him are on the older side.

that's why I dodged "popular" and went for "iconic".

it's tons more folks that's been more popular. Pokemon is leaps and bounds the most financially successful franchise of all times.

go lower from there.

Just saying just because you are not the first doesn't negate your influence. Despite the Shadow and others similar to Batman he has been annointed as the one.
