what on gods green earth are u talking about? once again open up a book and read about history not just assume what history is based on racist preconceptions fostered by living in a nation founded on white supremacy.

the slave trade in north africa is widely known for having the most white slaves moved through the region than anywhere outside europe. the Moors and Arabs in north africa were known for having a taste for white european p*ssy as concubines. there are countless books on this topic. open one up and then speak to me.

Lol at thinking Arabs were enslaving even a smidgen amount of African slaves compared to European slaves..

African Slaves In The Arab World

Posted 2006-10-03 14:49 GMT
Over 28 Million Africans have been enslaved in the Muslim world during the past 14 centuries While much has been written concerning the Transatlantic slave trade, surprisingly little attention has been given to the Islamic slave trade across the Sahara, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean.

While the European involvement in the Transatlantic slave trade to the Americas lasted for just over three centuries, the Arab involvement in the slave trade has lasted fourteen centuries, and in some parts of the Muslim world is still continuing to this day. A comparison of the Muslim slave trade to the American slave trade reveals some interesting contrasts.

While two out of every three slaves shipped across the Atlantic were men, the proportions were reversed in the Muslim slave trade. Two women for every man were enslaved by the Muslims.

While the mortality rate for slaves being transported across the Atlantic was as high as 10%, the percentage of slaves dying in transit in the Transsahara and East African slave trade was between 80 and 90%!

While almost all the slaves shipped across the Atlantic were for agricultural work, most of the slaves destined for the Muslim Middle East were for sexual exploitation as concubines, in harems, and for military service.

While many children were born to slaves in the Americas, and millions of their descendants are citizens in Brazil and the USA to this day, very few descendants of the slaves that ended up in the Middle East survive.

While most slaves who went to the Americas could marry and have families, most of the male slaves destined for the Middle East were castrated, and most of the children born to the women were killed at birth.

It is estimated that possibly as many as 11 million Africans were transported across the Atlantic (95% of which went to South and Central America, mainly to Portuguese, Spanish and French possessions. Only 5% of the slaves went to the United States).

While Christian Reformers spearheaded the antislavery abolitionist movements in Europe and North America, and Great Britain mobilized her Navy, throughout most of the 19th Century, to intercept slave ships and set the captives free, there was no comparable opposition to slavery within the Muslim world.

Even after Britain outlawed the slave trade in 1807 and Europe abolished the slave trade in 1815, Muslim slave traders enslaved a further 2 million Africans. This despite vigorous British Naval activity and military intervention to limit the Muslim slave trade.

By some calculations the number of victims of the 14 centuries of Muslim slave trade could exceed 180 million. Nearly 100 years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation in America, and 130 years after all slaves within the British Empire were set free by parliamentary decree, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, in 1962, and Mauritania in 1980, begrudgingly removed legalized slavery from their statute books.

And this only after international pressure was brought to bear. Today numerous international organizations document that slavery still continues in some Muslim countries.

Reports on slavery in Sudan, Mauritania for instance needs looking into. Recently, a former slave from the Nuba Mountains of Sudan, Mende Nazer, had her autobiography: "Slave: My True Story" published. Mende Nazer was an alleged slave in Sudan. She was made famous by her transfer to England to serve a diplomatic family.

Mende Nazer reports that she was abducted and sold into slavery in Sudan when she was a child of twelve or thirteen (she doesn't know when she was born). She lived in a village of the Karko Nuba in the Nuba mountains of Sudan with her family. The village was attacked one night. Mende fled with her family into the mountains.

She became separated from her family, and when a man caught her and told her he would protect her, she believed him. She had already seen people killed in front of her. The man told her to stay with a group of children.

Later, the raiders came and took all of the children to the town of Dilling, there the children were taken by families to serve as servants.

Mende also reports that she was taken by a woman from Khartoum whom she served for six or seven years. She had to do all the hard work of the household, and sleep on the floor of the garden shed.

She was never paid anything for her labor, and was frequently beaten. She wanted to leave, but had no money and nowhere to go, and was afraid to go to the police. The woman of the house said that she owned Mende, and called Mende her 'Abda', or slave.

Eventually Mende was sent to London to work as a domestic. After several months Mende escaped and claimed asylum. At first, the Home Office rejected her claim in October 2002. In November, the Home Office overturned its decision and granted Mende asylum.

And records of Arab slave trades get destroyed..with European slave trade they actually have records of the slaves they keep in the americas..even tho some slaves might come in on a ghost ship..with Arabs..they either destroy the records or have them hidden..so even tho the link reads 28 million,,it's bound to be a lot more

Sorry for using Wikipedia, but they cite their sources at the bottom though. Plus @observe source is dubious and also his links leads to nowhere.

Anyways:
"Due to the nature of the Arab slave trade, it is impossible to precisely estimate actual numbers of slaves traded.[5][6][7] European and American historians assert that between the 8th and 19th century, 10 to 18 million people were bought by Arab slave traders and taken from Africa across the Red Sea, Indian Ocean, and Sahara desert.[3][8][9][10] The term Arab when used in historical documents often represented an ethnic term, as many of the "Arab" slave traders, such as Tippu Tip and others, were physically undistinguishable from the "Africans" whom they bought and sold. Due to the nature of the Arab slave trade, it is impossible to estimate about actual numbers."

Where is this 50 million number?

Leaving aside some of the deeds of antiquity, and drawing on the works of other scholars, Collins concludes that some 12,580,000 slaves were exported from Africa between 800 AD and 1900. This was the human traffic that was taken across the Sahara, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean. The Sultan of Zanzibar continued the trade until 1873, when the British navy intervened to end all slavery by sea, although the practice continued on the Sultan’s plantations in East Africa.

Again where is this 50 mill number?

:laff: the concept of white slaves is incredible to you?

well here's the proof. below are images of moorish bath houses where concubines (aka sex slaves) were kept.

and here are the portraits of the Moors as drawn by Europeans. the image below is probably the most famous one. Its entitled the Moorish chief. Its part of an exhibit kept at the Philadelphia Museum of Art if you want to actually check it out.

An American historian says that more than a million Europeans were enslaved by North African slave traders between 1530 and 1780, a time of vigorous Mediterranean and Atlantic coastal piracy.

The number of white European slaves is only a fraction of the trade that brought 10 million to 12 million black African slaves to the Americas over a 400-year period, historian Robert Davis says, but his research shows the slave trade was more widespread than commonly assumed. The impact on Europe’s white population was significant.

“One of the things that both the public and many scholars have tended to take as given is that slavery was always racial in nature — that only blacks have been slaves. But that is not true,” said Mr. Davis, an Ohio State University professor.

“Enslavement was a very real possibility for anyone who traveled in the Mediterranean, or who lived along the shores in places like Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, and even as far north as England and Iceland.”

In a new book, “Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters: White Slavery in the Mediterranean, the Barbary Coast, and Italy, 1500-1800,” Mr. Davis calculates that between 1 million and 1.25 million Europeans were captured by pirates called “corsairs” and forced to work in North Africa during that period.

The raids were so aggressive that entire Mediterranean seaside towns were abandoned by frightened residents. “Much of what has been written gives the impression that there were not many slaves and minimizes the impact that slavery had on Europe.

“Most accounts only look at slavery in one place, or only for a short period of time. But when you take a broader, longer view, the massive scope of this slavery and its powerful impact become clear.”

The pirates, sailing from such cities as Tunis and Algiers, raided ships in the Mediterranean and Atlantic as well as seaside villages to capture men, women and children, he says. They were put to work in quarries, in heavy construction and as oarsmen in the pirates’ galleys.

Mr. Davis calculated his estimates using records that indicate how many slaves were at a particular location at a single time. He then estimated how many new slaves it would take to replace slaves as they died, escaped or were ransomed.

“It is not the best way to make population estimates, but it is the only way with the limited records available.”

I'm confused by your obsession with regard to arabs enslaving africans? we know this happened. we also know they enslaved europeans. people back then didn't only enslave people who were different races from them. only white europeans during the atlantic slave trade started that. before then, anyone who lost a war or battle could become a slave. and usually it was people of the same ethnicity enslaving one another.

as @KidStranglehold has already pointed out, most of the "arabs" enslaving "africans" were indistinguishable in terms of physical appearance. as I posted many times already in this thread, Arabs have historically been represented as the same as other black africans.

People need to understand that "Arab" is NOT a race or phenotype. Its just a culture and pan-ethnicity. Any group can really be "Arab", I think thats where the confusion lies. Though IMO I consider people from the Arabian peninsula to be the "true" Arabs. Everyone else is just Arabized even people from the Levant and Iraqis.

The first people in the Americas were not African...By 15k years those people carried non African clades and were distant from Africans...

Lets be reasonable here people. Now did Africans reach the Americas prior to Columbus? That's a good argument we can make. Since a Mali King DID send ships out...

Those could of came from slave stock..14 centuries, 28 million on record slaves..poor communities..

That doesn't mean they're the original Arabs.,I know what most people from Yemen look like,,not all of them look like that..
