In elementary? :what:

:wow:

Gotta be an age thing then. that shyt was garbage to us. I remember Fatty Girl and all that shyt. We used to laugh at that shyt.

I think it is an age thing breh, you probably was too young when it first jumped off cuz they played out quick. FUBU as I remember first got hot when they dropped them signature shirts with the fb on them, that was like in the spring then in the fall of that same year they came out with the jerseys with the 05 on them. For those 6-8 months that shyt was hot. Everybody had them jerseys it seemed like. But it was everywhere and it got over saturated quick. It was dead by spring, a year after the first shirts came out. You still saw it, but you right, at that time it became tacky to wear that shyt if you had style. So you mostly saw white boys, dusty brehs or Js wearing that shyt. Same thing when the platinum fubu came out. Hot for like 2 months then it was wack after that. It wasn't like Iceberg. I remember iceberg being hot for some years. I just associate a breh rocking Iceberg and some Yays ( buffs) with the dope boys I watched growing up.

I do think the quickness of the wave maybe has something to do with how I'm remembering it... and it might be an age thing too.

Honestly man, I only remember the period when it got "tacky to wear that shyt if you had style... and only white boys, dusty brehs or Js wearing that shyt..."

I didn't even know the A was on that wave like that...:ohhh: however brief.

But I do remember some folks I knew deeper south that were riding that wave heavy for hot sec.

Buy shyt... :patrice: I really don't remember that shyt ever being hot among my circle :dwillhuh:

Good points, tho homie.

It was hot for a second, but it was young nikka or lower level shyt basically. Hilfiger was dying out round that time too. So I could see how somebody else could be like "nah it was wack". Cuz at that same time I clearly remember the older brehs or cats getting money was in brands like Maurice Malone or if you was really getting it you was in Iceberg.

FUBU was Big Baller Brand before Big Baller Brand. Cuz it exposes how much disdain black folks have for companies that are really for us and by us.
*in big boi voice* boy stopppppp nikkas stop rocking fubu when they thought they was a fake ass iceberg with that ugly ass fat Albert shyt.....they put more money in ugly ass football jerseys and other shyt with the junkyard gang while falling off on the original brand....they never came back from that, I don't give a fukk who owned it, if that shyt ugly, I'm not rocking it :russ:

@Ol' Otis

I may or may not have had a bootleg Kani hoodie:sas2:

they were making the Kani bootlegs A1. So much so, some of the more "reputable" hood clothing stores were selling some bootlegs. :snoop:

NC wasn't fukkin with FUBU...unless you were in the country. :mjlol:

I NEVER owned anything FUBU and no one I knew did either. Only white boys and country folk and old washed up liquor heads on thunderbird fukked with it. :hubie:
You talking about the when it became played out and tacky...

In the 90's FUBU was popular, LL wore it in his GAP commercial, you put on a black sitcom at the time and you can see someone like Marlon Wayans wearing FUBU or Mecca, FUBU had a rap album, and Daymond John is worth hundreds of millions of dollars and on Shark Tank off the strength of FUBU.

How was nobody in NC (only white boys, crack heads and country nikkas) wearing FUBU when they was wearing it in a fashion capital like NYC in the 90's?
