Matthew's character is basically depressed, nikka doesn't sleep, doesn't have any desire for p*ssy, talking all depressing all the time. That is what they are trying to convey about him. So for him to fukk ol' boys wife makes no sense what so ever.

This show is a slow burn though. I like the dialogue, but hopefully the next episode will have more action.

Its clear to me that Marty envies Rusts ability to own his life and face his demons. That's why he admires him so much in the interviews.

Also its clear to Marty, that Rusts owns him at everything. He already proved he can give him that work in a fight. He's emotionally stealing his wife from him. What's next? The kids?

i get what you saying, but it has nothing to do with control cause the young chick isnt cheating on marty, she doesnt consider them a relationsip...he's just something to do, she even says so...the reason marty got pissed if she was fukking someone else cause it means he might not get that p*ssy no more...it's about him missing out on that p*ssy, not controlling it...

like controlling his life...it has nothing to do with control cause he does control it, he just isnt being himself...he's the one choosing to be and living like how others think he should, while rust doesnt...that's the thing about rust he admires...

as for his wife: a scene that was funny and ironic at the same time was when she confronted him in the kitchen and said he was a p*ssy for not speaking his mind....cause he said the same shyt earlier to the young girl...all the wife wants is for him to talk, fukk, and spend more time with the fam...that's it...but marty dumbass is falling for the young girl and wanting more then just to fukk cause that twat probably good than a muthafukka...he all fukked up, going through a mid life crisis and shyt lol....

i dont think marty gives a fukk about rust being better then him at some shyt...cause he knows, even though rust might be smarter, the better detective, fighter, etc., his life is just as fukked up as his lol

Sucks that the show will be taking a 2 week break just when things looked to be heating up with the killer.

Marty no doubt is out of control like Rust can be, Rust just doesn't care about keeping up appearances. Marty let that liquor get to me and screwed himself out of those tig ol bitties.

from the interview, the writer said this is an anthology.. one story, start to end.. he never (that i know of) said there would be OTHER stories or characters or anything.

what he DID say that was interesting.. is that if both woody and matt would want to do it, he would keep writing more seasons

There's going to be more seasons of True Detective. HBO already ordered season 2. It won't have Woody and McConaughey though. It's an anthology and will have different actors each season. And it will be in different locales.

Marty took so many L's in this episode. The religion scene, the bar scene, his daughter sketching soft porns in her journal (she gonna be a freak when she grow up ) and then scene where he confronts his mistress new man...."did she suck your dikk"

Rewatched the first episode. After Marty does the briefing to the rest of the office, they show him and Rust driving. Suddenly, Rust sees a little girl outside just standing there, then out of the blue he asks Marty "do you believe in ghosts?" I'm pretty sure that was his daughter.

TBH, the most recent episode did give me that dragging feeling that I got from The Killing. I hear TD shares some of the same writers from that show so that's no bueno if that feeling I get keeps up.
