The finale of The Americans Season 4 ended on a cliffhanger. It revealed that the spy couple Elizabeth and Philip Jennings were faced with a tough choice. They had to make a choice- either to stay in America or go back to Russia.
Fans of The Americans are hoping to see major developments in the storyline related to Jennings couple and their daughter when the series returns in March. Here are the four revelations about Season 5.
1.NAMES OF THE AMERICANS SEASON 5 EPISODES
The Americans Season 5 is the penultimate season consisting of 13 episodes. It will be followed by a 10-episode final season 6, which is likely to air in 2018.

2.PHILIP JENNINGS WILL CONTINUE TO BE A SPY OR NOT?
In The Americans, Elizabeth and Phillip Jennings are parents to their two kids. But they have not yet revealed their secret identities as spies to them. The new season will continue with Philip Jennings doubts and questions about his profession.
According to TV Line, executive producer Joel Fields says, “Almost from the beginning of the show, we saw that as a series-long journey for Philip. And Season 5 is going to be very, very big for Philip’s struggles with those questions.”
3.RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PHILIP AND ELIZABETH JENNINGS
The relationship between Philip and Elizabeth Jennings will be better in the new season. According to executive producer Joel Fields, Philip and Elizabeth are more “connected” than ever in Season 5 and their marriage has moved into better, more honest and trusting partnership.
But this will not ease out their lives. As Fields says, “their challenges in the world have only gotten harder” reports TV Line.
4.STAN HAS NEW ROMANTIC INTEREST
The Walking Dead‘s Laurie Holden is joining the cast of The Americans Season 5. According to Joe Weisberg, she is “a new romantic interest for Stan.” He describes the character as “a boatload of new Russians… new KGB officers who are going to be really compelling and interesting.”
Previously on The Americans, it was shown that Beeman’s undercover work caused a lot of problems with his marriage to Sandra. Eventually, they got divorced.
It will be interesting to see if lovelorn Stan Beeman falls for Renee aka Laurie Holden’s character.
