Since the 60s when the politician gave the ghetto youths guns and money to form political gangs...
One symbol was the fist, namely PNP; the other was the peace sign (the irony) namely JLP...
This, during the times of Rocksteady (spearheaded by Alton Ellis who loved dancehall btw) that movement was the antithesis to the Rudie culture,
u fukking eediot (idiot) fassyminded yute
those WERE NOT gang signs!
They were nothing more than POLITICAL GESTURES.....
the Fist in the air or the fist pump was the PNP aligning themselves with the Black Power movements that were happening across the western hemisphere during the late 60's......inspired by Malcom X's backing of the Castro Regime of Cuba which also happen to be the main advocate of the PNP's socialist stance .............
in response the JLP camp led by pro-american imperialists like Edward Seaga (eddie cia) placed the "PEACE SIGN" upon posters and billboards as thier appeal to the passive conservative ranks of the country, which sought to suppress the MILITANCY inspired by the PNP in the ghetto areas.....
the PNP and JLP are political parties u buffoon......
ur argument would have been stronger if you would have named the "gangs" aligned with them such as the SHOWER POSSE and the SPANGLERS but neither of them had ANY FUKKING GANG SIGNS either...
it was just their colors that identified them...
green for the SHOWER POSSE............reddish orange for SPANGLER
How much difference between is there between a gang sign, handshake, or political gesture nothing all denote allegiance to a political ideology, a tribe a gang or a group lets not split hairs now.
If we go back into the times of the Twa people you would see that fist raised high, let's not break one another down let us build each other up.
