Just listened to this song out of boredom. :mjlol: at this shyt being "genius." It was pretentious, vapid and not impressive at all.

Many people think it's genius, including far more knowledgeable ones than you. But anyway your opinion is completely irrelevant as you have an warped agenda, against me for some reason and the artist in question, so it's just pointless talk, which is what pretty much everything you say on here is. Stupid people view everything through their own ignorant warped perception, so they are intimidated at anything that goes beyond their intelligence. I'll be back at some point in this thread with a much more in depth reply and responses to the ignorant comments.

The irony is hilarious though, you see the rejection and contempt for anything intelligent JUST like the song says. Genius :blessed:

what do you say to people who have demonstrated a love for intelligent hip hop, but think this track is trash?

They are ignorant and incorrect, if somebody doesn't like the track that is perfectly fine, to say it is "trash" is hugely and incomprehensibly ignorant and wrong. Nobody with intelligence and knowledge about Hip Hop and lyricism would say the track is trash. Unless they are lying with an agenda, because it's clearly not. There's several tracks I may not feel, but wouldn't call trash. So it's either a case of not being able to articulate themselves properly and making a rash over the top statement to express they don't feel the track or ignorance/unintelligence/programming etc. But I as I've said I will be back later on, and I will reply to all comments in depth, so we can leave this here for now if you like as I'll be back later to really get into this.

"What are you trying to do?" :heh:

this shyt is undisputed :trash:

this nikkaz delivery is near the worst in the history of hip hop
his flow never switches over 87 albums that no one has purchased
the beat is :francis: at best... its really awful but I cant blame Rhino for that because what self respecting producer wants to give this lame a beat? But such is life lol
all I can say is at least this old ass oil change technician/rapper is doing what he enjoys, even if it sucks :manny:

:mjlol: I figured you your response would be some corny dweeb bullshyt like this. This song does not go beyond my intelligence, it goes beyond yours. There's nothing deep or intellectually stimulating about this song. It's just pretentious ego-stroking bluster disguised as depth and complexity. I would've been impressed by this shyt when I was about 17 maybe. You probably think Behold A Pale Horse is "knowledge dropping" and learned everything you know from rap and conspiracy videos on youtube.

If you think it's pretentious :yeshrug:
It is a little heavy handed with the message :yeshrug:
But vapid? :mjlol:
Are you sure that's the word you meant to use? Can a song be both pretentious and vapid? :ohhh:
His rhyming and the execution of the story/concept is definitely impressive though.

I would've been impressed by this shyt when I was about 17 maybe.

The joke is.. I used to write rhymes like this when I was 15. Particularly after the Matrix came out. But then I realized my flow was garbage and I wasn't saying anything profound.

Songwriting is a skill. Writing rhymes is far more poetry than prose. K-Rino's track is essentially prose spoken out loud. Respectfully, that makes it trash. And it's not even good prose.

Full sentences tend to sound terrible in rap. Especially one right after the other. It kills the intensity of the song.
In addition, this dude starts off several bars in a row using conjunctive adverbs.
"As my thought", "Then I stood", "Then I told"...
Conjunctive adverbs can be clunky. Using them to start a sentence kills the immediacy of what's happening. Instead of saying "then I told him: xyz", just say "xyz" (the actual dialogue). Remove the fluff.

Great rhyming is more about being vivid and having 'darts' of imaginative shyt. Evocative phrases.

Compare how much more fluid this is:

Here come the vultures, the Mobb-laced potent rap shyt
Perhaps, kid, make it happen, start the flipping
You fukking comic, who you kidding?
My nikka's laughing, blood bathin, the world's greatest
In-famous crime-zanous
To interfere would be dangerous
Plane descent, stand clear, save your strength

That stuff is miles ahead of what K-Rino's doing.

Hope that helps.
