Have Windows 8 set up on my HTPC. The Netflix app is pretty good though they could have made it more TV friendly. I find that the box art is a bit too small on the 42 inch. Can be fixed by increasing the DPI though.

Forgot about this thread, but... yeah the audio codecs being in DTS is what's causing my streams to stutter/pause. All of the shows I have are in AAC.

Please don't tell me the only option I have to get these working with Plex/Roku is converting the DTS to AAC for these movies though...

:sadcam:

I'll have to take an afternoon and go through all of my files that don't give me the option to choose between audio tracks (AAC, DTS) and convert them just to watch them. Backlog is ridiculous right now.

Yeah, that sucks. Are you absolutely set on using plex? Have you tried playon?

I haven't tried Playon, doesn't that have a subscription fee?

Plex has been great for me for the most part. I swear it used to handle everything I threw at it until this stuff with the movies recently. I went back and checked some of the files I've watched in the past and some are DTS and they played without issues, so I'm not sure what's changed now.

I never had this problem before and most of my rips have dts audio

Try moving your router closer..maybe your signal isnt strong

Also are you doing other shyt while your trying to watch movies like downloading

Maybe your hardwired devices are eating up the bandwidth and thats why its lagging

That's what I remember as well. I've watched plenty of movies encoded with DTS in the past and they played fine.

I rarely am doing anything else when watching a movie. It's just my wife and I so when I throw a movie on we're both watching it and nothing else is going on as far as downloading/streaming.

AMD or Intel for a htpc?? And why

Depends on form factor and what you are trying to do with it. If mini-itx and trying to do some gaming, AMD FM2 cpus, if for just media consumption Intel. Technically the AMD CPU can do both tasks well but consumes more power. Just depends on the PSU the mini-itx case brings. If you are going with a system larger than mini-itx then things change up a bit.

I had used The Renamer Site's down at the moment though.

Hey breh,

When you get the chance can you check something for me on your Plex App that you're using on Roku. Can you go to the "Advanced Preferences" option and let me know if your transcoding option is on Universal or Legacy.

I think I might have fixed this shyt, I'm watching a movie now to see if it freezes like it usually does for movies. I googled it again after a few weeks of not messing with it and saw that it's best to have that setting set to Legacy and not Universal. Hopefully that's all that needs to be done cause I have a lot of movies that I've got that I haven't even tried watching on my TVs because I knew they would just stop during the middle of them.
