That's what think as well

It's not as much action as bball & football
This is your opinion so it is what it is....but as an AVID watcher of all 3 sports, I'm of the opinion that as far as excitement and end to end action...Soccer wins out. NBA/college has a close second. Timeouts really mess up game flow for me. Football is honestly way slower than both of those other 2. Shout out to Goodell for trying to get that extra excitement back by catering to passing offenses and QBs.

On any given Saturday or Sunday morning the only bars open usually have soccer on here in Philly.

Most of the developed nations play soccer exclusively?:mjlol:

Once again, I NEVER said soccer wasnt enjoyed in developed nations. What I said is that developed nations normally have other options. For example, Soccer is very popular in Japan, but not before Baseball or Sumo. Think of any other G-20 nation outside of the EU and its usually the same story- Soccer is top 2 or 3, but not the #1 and certainly not exclusive.

Just admit your a Soccer stan, because everyone knows the most casual fan to any sport likes high scoring and fast pace action. I am a Steeler fan and I love low scoring grudge matches, but I would be a fool to sit here and think that a causal fan wants to watch a 7-3 game.

I played a year of Varsity back in the day and even attended a Chelsea match when I was in London- I understand soccer and why people love it. But I can DEFINITELY understand the argument against :yeshrug:
What does then having other options have anything to do with the overall popularity of the sport? You are all over the place breh. You bring up Japan, yet don't take into account that they have the most popular football league in Asia. Soccer is right up there with baseball in Japan. All of Africa plays largely exclusively, 99% of Europe plays as their number 1, 99% of the western hemisphere as well. Soccer for some reason is only seen as slow here on the Coli and to people who don't watch regularly. I'm not trying to change your opinion on it, but I think MOST people who are into the sport wouldn't agree with slow as an adjective to describe the game. Things are always happening on the pitch to keep people engaged. You like grunge matches, I don't...yet I still would never say football is boring and slow. And good job, I played competitively in high school too....Most of the world did as well.

You know what's funny, in the football world this last World Cup was roundly criticized for its lack of scoring, and overall "boring" , overly tactical cautious group play. :skip:

Soccer is not 'right there' with baseball in Japan- thats my point. Baseball is far more popular than soccer in Japan. Asia as a whole enjoys soccer, but its no where near the of level of interest as it is in Europe and certainly not the exclusive sport. Australians like Soccer, but they LOVE Rugby. South Korea may like soccer, but they LOVE baseball. China is split but basketball is slowly taking a hold. Your notion of soccer being every countries favorite sport is just wrong

Every other developed nation where soccer is exclusive is either: 1.)European 2.) Was under a European country's rule in the last 100 years

The U.S. Soccer coach really wants inner city kids to play obviously. I wish them kids would so they can go get that money

Q: What are your thoughts on youth soccer in America, and where must that go to create a pipeline needed to populate both the national team and also pro soccer?

A: "It's already happening, and it's growing constantly. But it can be better. We still need to put some information together for the coaches and parents and do it the right way. We are there to inspire and give guidance and motivate. Soccer is their game, and you need to motivate and love that just like basketball in the inner cities. That's how we should play soccer. It's the same way. It's self driven and self taught. The more you play the better you get.

So what are you saying then, because Europeans basically colonized every part of the globe these last 200 years. Baseball is popular in much of Latin America, the Latin Caribbean, and Japan because of American imperialism. But even many Arabic states play soccer mainly and were never colonized. Soccer's appeal in much of the world, much like basketball...has to do with its easy availability without expensive equipment and because its fun. Not because some cacs beat it into them :laff:
