I think one thing we can agree on is that this movie will be getting a hella technical award nominations. Off the top I think they'll get one of Original Score, Visual Effects, Sound Editing

They may get the noms but they won't win.

There were some dope visual moments but these movies aren't usually loved at the oscars like that.

Glad Finn got something outside of Rey
Liked Poe doing his thing and not being the hero this time
Loved the Casino scenes with Rose and Finn

Movie is fine man...star wars fans are the weirdest movie goers.

star wars fans watched The Force Awakens and hated it, then they push kids over in line go see THE LAST JEDI

star wars fans will run out to see the movies just to call em TRASH.

but it's just the older ones man, the kids and people in their 20's are cool with the movies...go see it man it's fun.

The movie as a separate entity in the universe is cool. If it was an episode of Rebels, it would've been liked. However, this is supposed to be a continuation of the main series, and in that, it fails. It's not even a good sequel. It ignores everything in TFA.

Everyone's problems with TFA is that it doesn't advance the story and is a complete rehash of EpI. But it IS a love letter to Lucas. JJ is a fan. Rian doesn't seem to be.

I just don’t get the same sense of urgency, wonder or grandiosity from these films that I get from the Og trilogy, or even the prequels

Yeah that's why I specified nominations. Every live action Star Wars has gotten at least a Best Visual Effects nomination.

Bro, she's got blown out of a fukking spaceship into the VACUUM OF SPACE and unconsciously flew herself BACK to the spaceship...and SURVIVED! That's probably the most powerful force usage in the entire series. That shyt NEEDS to be explained. If PRINCESS LEIA could that what could Yoda do in his prime?!

One of the most polarizing aspects was Rey's parentage. I love how they didn't make her a Kenobi, Skywalker, Solo or a part of another existing Star Wars family. It would have made it really predictable. But without that, there is no good reason to explain Rey's force calling without mentioning the dreaded midichlorians.

I guess that is the point to toss that bullshyt midichlorian bullshyt to the bushes!

By going back to the OG definition of the force which is pure every that all life possessed it is why Rey or anyone can have access.

that isnt true...she was the sole reason he did 99% of the shyt in this film...the only time he didnt do something for her was at the end....which makes the curveball they threw at the end even less sense....

Not true at all. Finn initially was going back to find Rey, but by the end was on the verge of sacrificing himself to save the Resistance.

I've no idea why Rey as Jedi with nobody parents is polarising. That's normal for Jedi.

this isnt true....she was one of the characters people were interested in learning more about once the pics/info of TFA started coming out...they have just done a horrible job with the character in these 2 movies though....another fukk up on their part....

I mean... which character did the handle properly in the last two movies? Chewie?
