I don't have strong feelings on the Shaun King stuff but regarding his race didn't he basically say 'the white dude listed on my birth certificate isn't my real father and everyone assumed this black guy was my real father and I did too so I just assumed I was black and always lived like I was'? I really don't have beef with that tbh. Dude's considered himself black since he was a kid as did everyone else.

The cop who investigated said that he KNEW Shaun was mixed, that you could tell just by looking at him, (see the teenager photo above), and that everyone in the community knew he was mixed. Sorry, but that's a little detail that Fox News lied to you about when they posted the story.
And yes, the police officer said he had the case different than Shaun's version, but of course a gang of White kids who beat him up are going to make up a bullshyt, "Ah, no, my friend just punched him because he said something offensive to my ex-girlfriend" story. The cop ran with that story because a teacher backed it, but Kentucky teachers don't want no stories about race beatings going public about their school. Even the cop has said that multiple witnesses backed Shaun's gang-beating story, and since the controversy came out Shaun's had classmates come out on record to say that shyt went down exactly like he said it did, while the haters who kicked his ass 12 on 1 are nowhere to be seen.

On the "King is Black" side
* King says his mother told him that his father was light-skinned black, but King has never known him.
* His mother told him he was mixed when he was 8 years old after people at school had started making comments about it.
* Since then he chose to identify as Black, and he's got tons of receipts from fellow students, teachers, cops, etc. saying that everyone knew he was mixed and that he always hung out with the Black kids, dated Black, went to an HBCU, etc.
* Pictures of him from high school look like a normal mixed-race dude
On the other hand, typical right-wing low-key racist websites have been pushing the narrative recently that he's not really Black. There entire evidence for this:
* The name his mom put on the birth certificate (which he says she wrote because her family would have freaked) is a White guy.
* King is really light-skinned.
* Some picture came out of King as a 2-year-old where he looked as White as a little Kris Humphries.
They've also tossed out tons of lies, like that he identified as White in elementary school (proven false), that his real dad has stated that he is White (proven false) that the cop who investigated his hate-crime beating in high school identified him as White (proven false), that he made up the whole Black narrative years later (proven false) and so on.
It's all just part of their scheme to tear down anyone associated with BLM.
I don't really know anything about Shawn King or give a shyt outside of this issue. But I'm going to be pissed as fukk if people in the Black community start picked up on right-wing racial narratives and think that Fox News should be the arbitrator of who is or isn't Black.
And it's also worth proving wrong the dumbshyts who think that a childhood picture tells you what color someone's dad was.
