Music like what? Guys his age don't enjoy the company of women?

Obviously they do. But not in the same way as a 20 year old. And Rae was always a different kinda dude anyway. Do you really think the girls and guys who grew up on Wu are really trying to hear this?

It's just funny to me how Rae and a lot of classic rappers seem to devolve over the years. They made more intelligent music as children. and now as adults they're dumber.

"Camay" to me is more along the lines of "appreciating women like fine wine" type shyt when you're older. Restaurants, house parties, traveling to exotic locations and taking in the local culture..

That's what grown ass men with money do. They're not in the VIP with bottle service. Not the cool ones, anyway

Good point, I always felt the Wu made more intelligent music back when they was younger. I think the thing with Rae is that hes trynna get it in with the younger artists and stay relevant with the kids loving hip hop today. You got Ghost making concept albums now so hes keeping it fresh but yea lyrically I think hes exausted but when you consider that he was on flames for nearly 15 years its no surprise.

I think lowkey Masta Killa is making the best new music for Wu

Raekwon Says "Fly International Luxurious Art" Will Feature "A Collage Of Heavyweights"

Raekwon dubs himself "a rap scholar," says Busta Rhymes and French Montana will be featured on "Fly International Luxurious Art."

With the release of Raekwon’s Fly International Luxurious Art slated for release in April, the Wu-Tang Clan spitter recently shared a few details about the album during an exclusive interview withAllHipHop.com.

In regards to the project, Raekwon revealed that he hopes fans will listen to Fly International Luxurious Artand feel that he’s improved as an artist and has grown with his music. He also broke down the name of the album, stating that his music is his paint and that he’s “a fly cat” who’s had the opportunity to travel the world.

“I just want everybody to know that I’m thinking big with this album. Everything is about expanding the mind,” Raekwon said. “And that’s where I’m at. I’m not just putting images out there. I’m putting it [out] for inspiration, motivation. Stuff that we feel that we deserve…That’s to me where I’m at right now as a rap scholar in the game. It’s really no going higher than that for me. It’s just a lifestyle project that I really feel that people get an opportunity to say ‘Yo, he improved. He’s improving as an artist. And the music is growing.’ And Rae, everybody know me as a fly cat anyway. And I travel the world all the time, so that’s where the international comes in. But it’s all art at the end of the day. When I’m giving you me on wax and I’m giving you an album, it’s my paint. It’s my magic marker. It’s my dream or my focus on what I want to do with this art. And that’s what we did with this album.”

Raekwon didn’t speak in-depth on the album’s features, but did confirm that French Montana, Busta Rhymes, and “a collage of heavyweights” will be featured on his latest work.

“It’s a collage of heavyweights on it that really got busy,” he said. “And some of my favorites that I never got an opportunity to work with is on this album. And it’s a real colorful body of work that really is—it’s worth the money…Put it like this, it’s well-rounded. This is a project I’ve been working on for almost two years. I had to push it back due to the Wu-Tang album. I had to get back in line with the team. I didn’t never want to have my album clash with my brother’s album.”

In other words: "generic shyt"

Dude's too old to be releasing music like this.

:what:

Dude, you stay jaded. The sh!t got a nice, grown man vibe to it. Why is he too old to be putting out a song like that? Name one thing about that song that a MC at Rae's status and age should be ashamed of? Is it pop? Is their any pandering to a younger audience? I don't get what you're saying.

I already explained my reasons. I just think this song is boring as fukk and doesn't have the emotional texture that I expect from a once-highly creative rapper who rapped on some of the most atmospheric beats in hip hop history.

Camay has a more intellectual, emotionally complex atmosphere than "All About You". As you get older, you're supposed to become more emotionally complex. not less. Where's the atmosphere in "All About You?" It's bland.

I'm a much bigger fan of this joint. It's not superb but the beat's way better. It paints a picture. But it's an old Sauce Money beat, which proves my point that most hip hop artists made more grown man shyt when they were kids.

I wasn't a big fan of All About You when it came out but I took further listens and it's a really nice track. Nice, smooth, Spring/Summertime vibe and atmosphere to it with nice singing, verses and silky beat. Like a warm day, with the wind blowing while cruising around in a drop top atmosphere. It's far from "dumb" music and nothing any older MC should be ashamed of putting out because it's apropos for their age range. You trying to compare it with some of his best songs from Wu's golden era is silly.

You're deliberately not seeing my point.

I'm not saying they should make Camay. I'm saying... if you set a precedent and made a joint like Camay as a child, I'm expecting more mature stuff as an adult. "All About You" seems like disposable fluff. Grown men don't do fluff. Not the interesting ones, anyways.

Ever heard A Hot Long Summer? That's grown man shyt. The beats still bang and a lot of the songs are still interesting.

Rae on Sway in the morning:

Time Marks

Raekwon Explains Ghostface’s Biggie Diss on The Purple Tape. Goes Deep on Wu History (Video)

After more than 20 years in Hip-Hop, Raekwon has some stories…lots of them. He sat down with Sway and had as deep of a conversation as you will ever hear from the Wu-Tang Clan killer bee. The OGs covered a lot of ground, starting with how the Wu changed the record business by retaining the ability for each member to sign his own record deal outside of the group (2:45).

They also spoke extensively about the early history of Wu-Tang Clan (4:45) and the genesis of Rae’s solo career (6:30). That lead to a conversation about “Verbal Intercourse,” Raekwon’s collaboration with Nas on Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, and how two London women opened Rae’s eyes to Nas’ talent (9:30). They also had a candid conversation about how Raekwon and Ghostface Killah’s loyalty to Nas lead to Ghostface’s infamous thinly-veiled diss of the Notorious B.I.G. on “Shark Ni**as” came to pass (13:00).

As the discussion progresses, Heather B asks Raekwon about Eric Garner’s death, given Rae’s ties to Staten Island, where Garner died (17:00). Raekwon takes on a different level of seriousness as he details the conversations he’s had with his children about Garner’s death and how to conduct themselves in the presence of the police.

Rae touches on a litany of topics over the remainder of the interview, including Drake’s Wu-Tang Forever Remix which was supposed to feature the Wu (23:30), his conversations with LL Cool J (27:00), his newF.I.L.A. album (31:00), the disappointment with Wu-Tang Clan’s A Better Tomorrow Album (34:00), his complicated relationship with RZA (38:45), physical altercations between the Wu (44:30) and much more. Check out the video.
