the reason that number is so high, is because it includes alot of early back-migrations into Africa. so the 40% might be technically right but most of it was from nikkas who were still the same racially as the native east africa they ended up mixing with.
you're right though. the range in phenotypes in east africa are much more like that african-americans than brazilians or dominicans.

Rather he meant "dark-skinned" and "curly-haired". Dark meaning just darker than his like arab skin tones and curly like jews. I'd say the folks in the pictures you posted are far more likely to be indicative of recent gene flow from southeast asia or the middle east into the region rather than it being a example of "pure cushyte." Folks right near coasts are usually those with the most chance of mixing with outsiders. While folks located in the interior are far more likely to be "PURE".
We won't ever know exactly what the truth is unless genetic testing is done individually and we have pictures to compare the phenotypes. Till then, all we can do is theorize. you can have your theory, but I think it has holes. Since most Afar and Somalians don't look like Southeast Asians, its highly unlikely that the "PURE CUshytES" would've looked like southeast asians as your post sems to be trying to indicate.
Well im not somali and im just regurgutating what a somali poster previously said, that most somalis and oromos have omotic admixture and that the red sea somalis are the purest cushytes because of their isolation. I could be wrong. Im only sure about my own ethnic group. Perhaps a somali should clear things up. just use common logic. what population is more likely to be admixed with FOREIGN gene flow. the group that lives right next to the red sea a few miles from the arabian coast and the indian ocean OR the groups that live in the interior surrounded by desert?
I would argue that it makes FAR MORE SENSE that the pure cushytes of 10,000 years ago looked like their afro-asiatic neighbours in the Omo Valley than having a completely different phenotype that has been diluted by admixture. Its far more likely the ones near the red sea coast are the admixed one with recent gene flow from the arabian coast and southeast asia. But then again I'm just using simple logic rather than c00nish fantasies.

beyond all the other evidence showing ancient egypt's obvious black origin, from the first hand accounts of the greeks and romans to modern day genetic testing, IMO the clearest proof of the BLACK AFRICAN ORIGINS of Ancient Egypt is the Sphinx and the temple complex at Abu Simbel. you can't look at these two megalithic faces and say they were not the faces of BLACK MEN. its simply impossible to say otherwise.
even with no nose or lips, the black features of the Sphinx are so obvious.
and then the Abu Simbel temple complex that was constructed by Ramses II in Upper Egypt near the border with Nubia.
