I am not against requiring college degrees. I am just telling you why police departments are dropping the requirement: because they are under pressure to become more racially diverse and black people are less likely than white people to have a degree.

But you left wingers said college records don't matter, now you are obsessed with Scott Walker's college records. The Washington Post just did a 2,000 word expose on Walker's time in college. I am still waiting on someone in the media to do a similar story on Obama's time in college.
:what: there is a big difference between some one not graduating and how well they did in school.

Lower their requirements from what to what? An associates to a ged? If you're an accountant would you want someone doing your job for you to not have a college degree?

:mjlol:

Should we be prideful in knowing that our public representatives/servants haven't attended college?

Rove brilliant, Jobs, Gates, both brilliant but lets not act like this is some normal occurrence.

Many news organizations proved that Karl Rove is an idiot. Fox News and Huffington Post have.

What Olberman is complaining about was a smear tactic by Rove. It doesn't make Rove stupid, it's not like Rove believe Obama is a socialist far left whatever they're calling Obama this week to strike fear into their terrified base.

the bottom link Rove is spot on with his assessment.

the huff po is too wordy for me at this hour. I'll try and check it out tomorrow.

Rove hasn't made it this far by chance. I don't agree with him ideologically but he's bright and a cunning strategist, he has had his handed to him lately but look at his roster.

I don't always trust Huffington Post either. Nor do I agree with the smear tactics that Karl Rove uses in his politics on news television stations. His roster isn't any better to be honest. I try to find the most relevant links to back up my posts when it comes to politics.

Police departments are under pressure in a lot of cities to become more racially diverse and better reflect the communities they serve. To do that they are being forced to lower their requirements for the job. The fact of the matter is that black people have lower rates of college degrees so it is harder to recruit them if you require a college degree.

What is more important to you: a diverse police department or a highly educated police department?

police should mirror the people the police its that simple.....

@Type Username Here should apply to the police department just for lolz......

wonder if he would get hired :dwillhuh:

It turns out that those who have cursed at a police officer for apparently not using his or her brain or said an officer was being “stupid” may not be as far off the mark as the American public might hope.

Although it’s not widely known, federal courts have ruled since 2000 that police departments can legally opt to not hire someone simply because he or she scores too high on an intelligence test. The millenium ruling followed a lawsuit filed in 1999 by Connecticut resident Robert Jordan, who was told by the New London Police Department that they only interview candidates who score 20 to 27 points on an intelligence test.
