Nas really got 5 classics. Name which other rapper that got 5 classic rap albums. Honestly.

Below the heavens and a piece of strange had no impact. Yet both are classics. Supreme clientele and carter 3 too.

Below the Heavens was critically acclaimed and was influential in the hip-hop community, and I'd still call it an underground classic.

I've never heard of "A Piece of Strange".

How can you call an album that nobody knows about a "classic". I love Roc Marciano's "Reloaded" but it's underground classic at best. Just doesn't have that overall appeal.

Fukk it I’m going to say this cuz I never heard no one say this. People always talk about RD not being a classic when it was released. But being a 13 year old kid I clearly remember IWW getting shyt on big time. Tbh I don’t even remember when IWW was deemed a classic. Even on takeover people didn’t think Jay was out of line with the “ugh” line in regards to that album. It’s like Jay bought that album attention and made people re-listened to IWW. When people gave it another shot majority of fans realized they were wrong

Jay was way out of line with that :russ:

IWW influenced j cole and Lupe fiasco. They said it themselves.

Also if I ruled the world and street dreams were huge hits. That album was too damn cinematic and the only people that were mad at that album were the people expecting illmatic pt 2

I get wat u saying. But only a small minority in 2001 would call IWW a classic and a even smaller pct would have said IWW was better than illmatic. But as time passed IWW got the Love it deserved imo

I think you're right about it finally getting the classic label around 2001. When jay mentioned it on takeover I remember being like "yo I can't be the only one that fukks with this album :patrice:". I had some friends that fukked with it though

I got Nas at 4. KRS-One at 5. Pac at 4. K-Rino at 9. Think those are the highest I got in terms of classics, would agree Nas got some of the most, but mine may be different picks than others, my Nas ones are Illmatic, Stillmatic, God's Son and Distant Relatives, think he's got some other great albums too that are close but may just miss classic to me.

He has two classic albums. Illmatic and IWW. This is not up for discussion.

Stillmatic ...there's about 7 great songs, but one too many duds. But that intro is the goat intro. What a way to set off an album.

Lost Tapes is technically not considered a true album. And that's the only reason it isn't considered a classic album.

Godson...yeah if we include the 9th wonder remixes. Otherwise nope.
