^^^^ this is the heights I have always known. When I think of the heights I think about being outside hanging out with friends, the music (random people dancing in streets), the parks n playing baseball/basketball, the food where for 5 dollars you can have yourself a meal for 3 people and eat good and the beautiful girls who aren't Americanized.

Now the hipster movement is in full effect over there you can already see it. Been seeing a lot of these new restaurants opening up with overpriced Spanish food and overpriced liquor. Greeks and other outsiders taking over the restaurant/bar spots. The Muslims taking over the bodega spots. The big American businesses taking over the mom and pops spots. Now the culture is changing also very slowly u can see it but it still only represents a small percentage of the heights.

Now I see this show is trying to show that Lower East Side hipster movement in another part of the island. This isn't the true heights. Lol I think MTV agenda is to have white people move in and take over. They selling the idea.

5 dollars feeding 3 people? please leave these tales of ancient mythology and folklore alone.

As much as I love The Heights, this show is actually promoting diversity. Change is good, you really want Dominicans to be potrayed like those Jersey Shore idiots?

This is the worst fukkin representation of my neighborhood, no dimelos, no sexy dominican bytches, no chimi trucks, no bodies being posted on the corners, no bachata, no mangu, no old cats playing dominoes in front of the grocery store, no baseball... instead we got a bunch of out of towners who migrated to the heights playing spin the bottle :steviej:

Fukk this shyt, as a Dominican from Washington Heights allow me to give this thread the 1 star it deserves :snoop:
these are Dominicans that were raised in the US without the culture, so they're just like any other Americans with a little of that Latino attitude in them

show wasnt as bad as I expected it seems like every other reality show around

nikka with a father in jail and he's openly showing his father love? how is that not Latino?

and lol@the father saying I taught you better while sitting in jail

I just watched the 2 episodes...I agree its pretty weak.

Now some of them DO talk like many people I know out there, but NOBODY is going on the rooftops to play spin the bottle...they are on the roof to smoke weed in the heights. Obviously that cannot be shown in the show, but don't insult us by trying to say we are ALL like these hipsters on the show. Granted there are a bit of nail spots out there, but a true Dominican knows that on the weekends most of the women are gathering at a house they all know and get themselves done for about $10-$15 a pop. Thread does not even deserve a star. The mom did make that white rice on the stove like all of us can relate to tho. I also like how they conveniently go quick to not even show the blocks they are supposed to be representing...from what I can tell they are up past 181st to damn near dyckman. Dyckman is INWOOD already...these guys are BARELY even in the heights lol.

:comeon: @ you thinking they would show mangu spots, guys selling "frio frios" on the corner with patelitos and empanadas as well. This is the hipster Washington Heights...watch them dudes jog in the morning alongside riverside drive and hit up Chipotle in season 2 (if there is one) as if the shyt is a staple in the community. I knew this would be like this tho. Washington Heights is a great neighborhood, but I always questioned how that would translate on screen.
