Have you watched him the past 2 months?
Ive watched the Cavs a few times, his defense didnt stand out but he does get helped by the fact he has some good defenders that play with him...and you also know that DTR is helped by a good defensive team which makes it at times misleading...

You can also watch the games and see it for yourself.

The past 2 months Love has been playing the best defense of his career.

Obviously, having Moz and LeBron make it easier but he has not been a liability during that time span.

Mosgov usually take defensive assignments. The reasony why Love wasn't playing in the Spurs game was because david blatt couldnt cover Love's defensive flaws and that game wasn't 2 months ago.

and please pull up Boozer's defensive stats when he was playing for the Bulls while you're at it

And let's be clear. Tristan closes games over Love depending on match-ups.

The Cavs switch on pick and rolls. Tristan is a better option if they are trying to ramp up the perimeter defense and cause turnovers.

That's why Blatt rides it when he sees fit.

and that NY isn't one of the best with the 9th most championships, 4th most Finals appearances, 5th most consecutive Finals appearances in the history of the league, and having won a Finals game without Ewing in '99.

The difference now is that he's in position now. He's moving his feet and communicating.

His biggest flaw defensively was his awareness, biting on shot fakes, and being out of position.

He's cleaned that up during that period.

ok u just said it.

Love isn't a good defender and Blatt makes substitutions to cover them up. that why his defensive rating is like that.

Love is fine in the post.

He's just not as athletic as Tristan.

The Cavs switch on pick and rolls.

You don't want a situation where Parker is being guarded 1 on 1 by Kevin Love. Doesn't make him a poor defender. Just a horrible match-up.

Tristan actually was the defender that guarded Tony and helped him miss the shot that led to overtime.

It's also the reason Moz sits a lot in the 4th.

Low key, Love's best destination would be the Phoenix Suns.

Might not be good for the "brand" he's trying to establish, tho
