I don't care what nobody says, Warriors was a good fukkin movie. One of my favorites. It was supposed to be remade with SoCal as the backdrop from what I remember reading some years back. I think the fact that they wanted to do it with West Coast vibe is because when you think gang activity almost immediately Los Angeles and surrounding areas (Compton, Watts, etc.) come to mind. Made popular by the music and the riots, Cali kinda put gangbangin on the map as it pertains to people's consciences or ideas of gang activity. At least that's how it was, because nowadays more people probably think of Chicago than Cali. Some people might even think of Texas considering how much the ABTs have been in the news for the past few years.
Funny bit of trivia on the Warriors too, is that movie was based somewhat off of Mitch Blood Green's life if memory serves me well.
