The land and the cost of living will only be cheap in Texas until/if the state economy takes a dive & major cities become overpopulated & resources get stretched.

300k plus a little bit extra would have got you the mini mansion I came of age in.
Chicago is going to shyt real estate price wise.
Plus, nobody really has any liquid substantial capital but pritzkers and a few others.

Real talk, if I don't stay on my old block.
It is nowhere in Chicago appealing for me to be at any way.
When I lived in other parts of Chicago it was huff as fukk.

If it ain't my old actual block and a house there.
I am good on moving back, just because.

it would be for my daughter and her to get the knowledge.

past that, Chicago has no value to me to move back.
there is no money in real estate there either.
Best thing about Chicago is you can get around in certain areas and get resources if you fukked up.

Outside of that, a lot of people complain about the area but most ain't going anywhere. I'm guilty of that, I have a love/hate relationship with the area but I can't really see myself anywhere else.

I know a lot who moved there...mostly Mexican. Cigarettes are half off and everything else is cheaper.


A lot of Illinoisans moved to Arizona and TX too.

property tax is a lot cheaper in Indiana but most of them still work in Illinois where the jobs are.

The west got like 2 or 3 states worth visiting and some of the worst states in the country are in the south "mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Oklahoma,Tennessee, ect."

You will miss it when you gone so just hold on.
I got culture shock down here and I wish I never left but now I am somewhere else and just roll with the punches.
It has been a relief being away from that heightened tone the city puts you in.
Yet, I have not decompressed or lost that.
All because to me the rest of the world is soft and I ain't getting caught lack'n out here.
Chicago = the most advanced urban landscape and experience in life
