I look at classic early 1900s black fashion and think "Anyone who thinks we (blacks) haven't already done this is a moron to the highest degree."
I back anyone who rocks what they like 100%. Hipster shyt is repurposed Jazz club swag.

1. You're 100% right, my dad always said "what goes around, comes around" alot of stuff we wear that is stylish , was in 20 -30 years ago.

2. Blacks been dressing, speciallly in the larger cities

3. It's dubbed "hipster" but it really isn't. And I do it myself as well...i usually hang out in hipster spots. Those black girls are hard to pull tho lol

4. For some reason, I don't think that pic is from early 1900's - it almost looks newer, something about the women dresses and shoes look newer.

5. black people also wore those over sized zoot suits, which is synonymous with the oversized tee lol

Can someone post examples of how black men meant to dress in 2015 then?
Timbs, Jays, sneakers i.e any non-dressy shoes, somewhat baggy to baggy jeans, crew-neck t-shirts, polo shirts, hoodies, jackets, for example. I personally find it sad that so many Black men limit their modes of dress to the aforementioned and those who dare to go beyond the usual get a label i.e hipster, :mjpls: or similar. Not saying one has to go to the extreme with the colors, etc., but there are many Black men who don't own a dress shirt, a suit, or a pair of dress shoes.

i promise you all you knuckleheads still rocking bagging b.s.

get 1 good suit, get it tailored and some decent shoes / dress boots

wear that one day to the club or out and see how much more pull you get, how much more respected you are. You will get in clubs you normally probably won't be allowed in at - you will pull chics, who typically won't give you the time of day.

women like thugs, but they like thugs in suits even more.

Go to Downtown Brooklyn, or Union Square and tell me if it aint true

That's my point, those aren't black areas. So people in those areas are more likely to be on the mjface.

Some of y'all are not in black areas like ATL DC/PG where black people namely those who attend HBCUS can dress like that. in majority black areas there's no specific style of dressing everyone does their own thing. Union square and specific spots in Brooklyn are going attract certain type of black. And those types of blacks are very different from blacks who live in ATL/DMV/HOUSTON certain parts or attended HBCUS or the type of blacks who are in black associated social groups.
