This is a bait thread.. how many black marvel heroes can match the even solo scale of Black Panther ??? NONE,

for the simple fact that BP is more than JUST a super hero, he's a king with a RICH AFRICAN history and wealth, his story was always going to be an event. you think a war machine or falcon is putting up numbers ??

you nikkas need to chill with these lame threads..

anyways, only one as others have said is John S.. but since the GLC movie isnt a solo but a buddy flick it's not gonna be an event per say... i wish you nikkas will get out your ass instead of saying dumb things

Cyborg isn’t that type of character. For one he works best in a group setting because he thrives when there’s someone to bounce off of.

Two he doesn’t have the African lineage to tap into. He’s more sci-fi and comedy.

C, victor stone is just a different person and a weirder story to get into. There’s drama there and a lot of stuff to pull from definitely because it’s the Frankenstein story. Plus he’s got this complex relationship with his dad and his mom isn’t around and yeah it’s a lot of shyt you can do with that. But a story about a half man half robot who keeps half his face covered and has daddy issues isn’t going to be the big audience movie, at least not in my mind. It can be a really good movie but it’s not an event film like black panther. Even static can’t be an event film. Again cyborg works best as part of a group. Teen titans, justice league is where he should be.

There are a lot more Randy and Titos in the world than there are Michaels.

A jon Stewart green lantern movie is the closest you’d get to that from dc. It’s for the space opera aspects, jon doesn’t cover his face up, he’s one of the most powerful people in the galaxy, he’s one of the most strong willed, it has a lore and a mysticism to it, it’s new worlds and adventures and he’s an army man so there’s a war aspect to it as well

Facts.

John Stewart is the closest equivalent and avoids overlap or redundancy because he operates in the opposite spectrum of Black Panther.

An African-American US Marine from Detroit, Michigan "called to serve" as a cosmic-powered space marine millions of light years away from home/Earth... the dualities literally write themselves. Then throw in the nature of the rings and the mass effect/star wars/gotg elements... and you're pretty much striking gold.

Not to get into this petty shyt but your first point minus all the rage lol is true. There aren’t many marvel or dc black characters who can do what black panther is going to do. Maybe luke Cage? But that’s a maybe for me.

You saying a green lantern movie is mass effect just cracked the code :wow:

You get the whole chosen one elements from Star Wars plus the military and political and just galaxy hopping aspects from mass effect complete with mass effect’s creatures and :wow: that shyt would print money

He can't. Black Panther has a legacy behind him that makes him a staple of comic book history. Cyborg is a cool character but when people think of prominent black super hero's you usually hear Black Panther, Storm and Cage mentioned. Static probably would come b4 Cyborg in a lot of people's minds also.
You forgot about blade breh

DC has such the world to make a sub black only super hero group that is downright distrustful of all villains and superheroes.
They just need a writer and to bring in the MIlestone black characters into the mix as outsiders.

OG slim and fast Black Lightening, not brolic knockoff luke cage version.
Mister Terrifc and Johnathan Stewart and young Cyborg
Bring in Static, Hardware, Rocket and make Icon a hidden OG who has been laying low (basically black superman)

And you can do something special.

That said Cyborg is just as famous as BP, but not as a black figure.
If you are in you are 40 and under you know who Cyborg is because you most likely watched Teen Titans and you have kids who most likely watch Teen Titans Go.
He is prominant, he just doesn't have the weirdo hype of being the embodiment of black pride and DC/WB make trash films so that hurts too.

I just want him to be interesting thats all. His runs so far have been straight :trash:and I need him to be more than the token black. He needs some worldbuilding like the other members of JL.

I don't really fukk with Cyborg the way I do with Black Panther. How can DC make him interesting and not just a sidekick, because he's pretty lame to me.
it's quite sime, dc is not sophisticated enough to hire writers to make him an appealing character.

The studies just need to accept the fact that black super heroes make alot of money. Luke Cage broke netflix, Black Panther setting records. Blade started the whole wave(even though they like to credit xmen which came out a year later). Even Spawn an indie comic hero had a cult following. (a white cult following by the way). There hasn't been a single black comicbook hero with his own movie that has flopped yet. facts
and despite this We've yet to see a single DC negro get his own film.

edit: except Steel, (but that movie was trash and deserved to flop.)

the mistake with cyborg is the roman reigns/ cap marvel push. hes been a teen titan all this time with no transition and nu52 happens and hes a main leaguer. but noone has known what to do with him. he doesnt really fit the league, and hes not really compelling enough to make people want to read a solo. he should have been on the outsiders or jsa and work from there.

but its still fukk cyborg all day for titans east

Steel and John Stewart are the only main DC characters with enough weight to carry a film in the Antman level.

Static is is own thing but he has the headstart to put him in the Doctor Strange territory
