2014-15:
PTS/G: 107.9 (1st of 30) ▪ Opp PTS/G: 101.0 (14th of 30)
SRS: 7.27 (2nd of 30) ▪ Pace: 95.9 (7th of 30)
Off Rtg: 112.1 (1st of 30) ▪ Def Rtg: 104.8 (9th of 30)
Expected W-L: 59-23 (2nd of 30)

The highest point per game in the best NBA era in it's history. Very good defense. Elite all time Off rating. Elite SRS in a strong era.

In the top 10 of all team TS% marks in the shot clock era over the last two years.

One of the best passing teams in the last 30 years in the NBA.

One of the best 3 point shooting marks as well but then again, the game has changed, most of the best shooting teams today rate extremely high all time in 3pt shooting marks.

They are seen as one of the most balanced NBA teams off all time by RAPM, PER, team +/- and impact wins for a regular season team in 2014 and 2015. This year, they look like their on pace for similar results.
Being statistically great on one side of the ball doesn't give credence to suggest they're the best team to never win a title [according to statistical data].

Now let's get to these stats -

i) This "highest point per game in the best NBA era in its history" is nonsense. What are you using as parameters to claim this is the "best NBA era in its history" besides your biased towards this era? Second of all, the Warriors actually had the highest points per game average last season (how exactly could the Clippers hold the title for highest points per game total in the best era, when they didn't even have the highest average during the season?); the mid-2000 Suns teams actually had a higher points per game average than last season's Clippers team too. Aren't they still part of THIS era?

ii) How are they one of the best passing teams in the last 30 years? They finished 14th in assists per game last season - yes that doesn't give you a complete picture of how well they passed the ball, yet if you actually watched them play the ball usually went back-and-forth from Griffin to Paul and they'd be the only ones to create points for the team on the regular (there was no Spurs ball movement going on). I mean in order for them to be one of the best passing teams - don't they have to have a certain number of good-to-great passers? From what I can see they only had a few -

That is NOT one of the best passing teams in the last 30 years, by any stretch of the imagination. It's half the reason their bench had offensive droughts in the postseason - because they didn't have proper ball movement.

iii) Very good defense? Really - you're going to have to do better than that - I mean isn't this the greatest team to never win a title according to "advanced stats". Where are the RPM, DBPM and DWS metrics?

i) It might be hyperbole but I do believe this is the best era in NBA history. I didn't say they were #1 scoring last year, I said in 2014. In 2015, they were #2.
ii)Assist ratio, adv stats says otherwise.

I wanna say the Kings were better but the Hawks are deeper.

  • Peja is a far better player than Korver or anyone he Hawks have on the wings.
  • Noone on the Hawks is Webber's caliber, IMO. Horford is a very good player but he's peaking rignt now and simply isnt a star in this league. Closest thing is Milsap and Millsap isnt close to prime Webber.
And this is coming from one of the biggest Millsap fan you'll come across. Ask all my fellow Heat fans how they used to sh!t on me when i said i wanted to trade Bosh to Utah for Millsap back in 2011.
You can also ask the Hawks fans on the board how i told them Millsap was that dude when they got him even tho most Hawks fans were sh!tting on the move because they were too mad at management for not getting stars.

But at the same time even in his prime Bibby wasnt as good as Teague is right now and truth is Teague hasnt peaked yet. I'll admit Hawks fans were hyping him up and i laughed 2 years ago. He made me take all that sh!t back.

Al Horford is vastly underrated. One of the best players in the NBA. He does everything at a very good or elite level outside of scoring and rebounding. His percentages, BBIQ, defensive ability, lateral quickness, shooting ability, passing, court vision, ball handling, versatility, athletic ability is top notch. He's a better player than prime Webber. It's not even close either. Webber really only gave you work on the offensive end. Somewhat like a PF version of Melo but Webber has more impact while having less skill due to his BBIQ.

I hear people saying Marc Gasol is one of the best players in the NBA but don't mention Horford and it's disrespectful.
