I remember her. Maaannn, when people say THISCLOSE they are not lying. I'm not going to sit on airs and knock other peoples religion knowing Selena's whole family were Jehovas Witnesses. It was quietly reported blood transfusions were rejected which would have saved her life. I respect peoples choice and I can't be mad for her father (if im not mistaken) making a decision which ended her life.

Nothing but love in this thread. Probably one of the most tragic celebrity deaths of modern times. She was already an icon to Mexican Americans and she was on her way to become a nationwide titan perhaps worldwide as well. Even Beyonce says she was inspired by her. I felt so bad for her husband, Chris, you can still it eating him inside today. There will never be another like her.

Selena was murdered at the age of 23 on March 31, 1995 by Yolanda Saldívar, the former president of her fan club. On April 12, 1995, two weeks after her death, George W. Bush, governor of Texas at the time, declared her birthday "Selena Day" in Texas.[5] Warner Bros. produced Selena, a film based on her life starring Jennifer Lopez, in 1997. Selena's life was also the basis of the musical Selena Forever starring Veronica Vazquez as Selena.
