show was classic & handled racism better than any other program imo. one of the famous episodes had sammy davis who was a big fan & requested to be on the show. another had archie trapped in an elevator w/ an uppity conservative black dude & they bonded over making fun of puerto ricans. there were also episodes that not only attacked archie's racism but his son in law's white liberal bs. not to mention, archie was a known idiot on the show, mispronouncing words & phrases, and when he would rant about gun control or whatever, it was all over the top. i doubt anyone became more racist from watching it...it was also one of the first shows to feature middle eastern people & they had a puerto rican nurse living w/ them in later episodes. actually a very liberal show...if it wasn't for aitf, shows like in living color couldn't exist (another old show you could pick apart if you were uptight)
