How you gonna say Charlie Murphy made
Chapelle Show when DAVE was the one playing Rick James and Prince??

Did Charlie Murphy come up with the Love Contract skit too? Did he come up with the running gag Wayne Brady shyt?

Faizon is a C-List comedian and D-list actor who did not make the best of the opportunities presented to him...Dave did

Dude comes off as someone who read Dave's wiki, got upset and then felt like venting about it

What is Faizon Love's "Killin Em Softly"?

What is he known for other than being Big Worm from Friday?

This shyt is the comedy equivalent of Jim Jones coming at Hov a few years back

People don't like FACTS :whoo:

But you ain't never lied:sas2:

Kevin Hart is king of popularity not Comedy. Nothing stated by Faison was true. Dave has the receipts and quality work to hold that title. Kevin Hart is family friendly and he will never be a king of comedy because he doesn't take risks with his material.

well, again, we are talking about semantics here. to the people spending money, there is no difference between popularity and comedy as far as a title. and Dave is still more popular that Kevin if we talking stand up. they have niche markets. Kevin's stardom is attached to him being a film star now.

you getting into material and shyt, Faizon was talking about money/contracts and such. you think just because a comic has black material that he cant be manufactured in Hollywood? as I said, I seen Dave live in the 90's and his material wasnt what it eventually evolved into. he was basically on some black hippy shyt. and he was started in Hollywood before his standup even became popular.

people get sensitive over stuff when you say something about their heroes. Dave Chappelle is funnier than Kevin Hart and I dont really like a lot of Kevin Hart's stuff because how its themed, but he cool tho. I dont see what he said that was outrageous here, Dave would probably even agree although him like many others wont appreciate the hater-ish tone.

Nothing wrong with what Faizon said. its facts. also, "King" is just a term. I can go with Kevin Hart being the king right now. Its just a term and its time based. Just like in sports, whoever is on top at the time.

at the same time, I have seen Dave Chappelle live many times and he is funny. I could say he was kinda manufactured in Hollywood because Chappelle had been around for a while. his early fan base was more cacs than blacks. I didnt see black people really get on him til he blew up. the first time I went to see him live we were damn near the only blacks in there. his humor was different. he was on that stoner shyt. funny as fukk tho. when he was in Half Baked, I kept wondering why he hadnt blown up yet.

Chappelle got the money from NF because it will turn a profit for them.

Chapelle had the Half Baked type of crowd. Rock had the nikkax. Chapelle' black fanbase grew into what it is now. Faizon was born with a mouth to talk with but point in someone else's direction with the quality, numbers & hype around them that Dave has

Naw, that shyt was nowhere near as popular as it would get during season 1.
Doesn't mean it wasn't a hit breh. The first episode was spoken about everywhere. It set the tone for greatness to come.

Dave specifically talks about the rise of "idiot" fans in season 2. The ones that didn't get that the show was satirical and were there for the Rick James slap jokes. They pushed him out. They were laughing at his imagery of Black folk and missing out on the political commentary
