I went into this movie with reservations because I didn't think a sequel without the original cast or director would work but when dude bailed on his wife and sprinted to that little boat was awesome and I knew I would end up liking this flick.

I haven't seen that opening since the movie dropped. The way it's shot still makes it seem like there's absolutely no chance he will make it to that boat.

i feel the 2nd movie definitely kinda went down hill after the opening. i hate kids in horror movies, they always fukkin suck or hold back the protagonist

People who like the opening and hate the rest of the movie are probably the same dudes who plan out scenarios for zombie apocalypses and shyt. It appeals to that zombie survival bullshyt.

Even the first movie would be like "what a piece of shyt." After all, Cillian Murphy ends up going back to face the rapist soldiers when he was already scot free.

Twenty Eight Months Later the zombies all starved and those that didn't were eaten by animals. Meanwhile, life goes on as people treat affected migratory animals as if they were killer bees, or had rabies.

This right here. (Though the ending of Return of the Living Dead was real talk.) (And the remake dealt with the delusions of the living when it came to loved ones pretty accurately, through the black dude and his mail order Russian bride, which I guess was a nod to the original?)

The chemistry between Roger and Peter was outstanding, and even Flyboy went from annoying to cool. The girl wasn't completely useless, so that's a plus.
