I don't get it, the song is not that dope to me. It's half way weak with a old sounding Neptunes beat. Give the exact same song and video to Usher and the song is trashed by critics and will flop.

I swear this song was made to sell Beats products in commercials.

You guys are over anaylzing this. These numbers are great for Robin Thicke. Robin is not Justin, he wasn't in a Pop Group that has 2 Diamond albums. Justin fanbase is larger period. The only comparison is they are both "Blueeye White Soul" "Blurred Lines" is bigger than any song off "20/20". He's going Gold with this album.

It's ironic that Justin got the album sales but ended up not getting the #1 Single but "Suit and Tie" got to #3 and "Mirrors" #2 so they still did very well.

To the thread starter point. "Do Hits Sell Albums". In this era. Not really. In the Pre 2005. Yes a hit song would of sold your album. But in this era the only thing Hit Songs seem to do is sell singles. Back in the day your Hit song sold singles and albums. Look at that dude Goyte. His song "Somebody that I used to Know" sold 7x Platinum in the U.S. and over like 15 Million around the world. Won Record and song of the year at the Grammy's but the album barely went Gold.

Actually for Pop artist it doesn't help much either but it's really bad for rappers
